NDT: Forgot to split dose day before blood test

Hello All,I'm wondering if my blood test results will be majorly effected as I forgot to split my NDT into a 3rd dose the day before getting blood tests or take the last dose at a later time as recommended on the Forum. Something came up at work and I totally forgot to check until it was too late.

I am currently splitting my daily dose of 180mg NP Thyroid into 120mg around 7am and 60mg around 1.40pm so it is a split dose but there will be a longer period before my scheduled blood tests at 8.40am.

I hope it won't affect the accuracy of my results too much? Any advice /insights would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

So, that will be a gap of 19 hours. Which won't affect your TSH at all. And your FT4 should be ok. But you will have a pretty low - false low - FT3.

Thanks for advising me of this Greygoose. I will bear this in mind that my T3 will be falsely low but that this is because of the gap between my last dose and the blood test. I will see what the results are in a few weeks and get back in contact if needs be. Many thanks

Radd thank you so much for your fast reply. That is reassuring to know. Now I am following a split dose as my usual routine.Last time I had blood tests I'm not sure if I was splitting my daily dose but I would have split the dose the day before blood tests (last dose around 2pm) as I had read elsewhere on this Forum that this was recommended. I took the last dose about 8-12 hours before the blood draw/( around 8.30/9pm) last time as far as I can recall. Hopefully this slight difference in timings won't affect the results too much.I waited until after the blood test to take my morning dose.

For future blood tests I won't change anything the day before the test and will just wait until after the blood test to take my morning dose. I trust this will definitely be like for like. Thank you Radd
