Getting rid of reflux with apple cider vinegar?

Hi everyone. I've seen a few folks talk about how increasing stomach acid using apple cider vinegar can eliminate Hashimoto's-related acid reflux (for people with low stomach acid). I've decided to give it a try, but I have a few questions:

1. How much ACV should I take? (I tried 2 tsp in a small amount of water, but got a stomach ache and heartburn; tried 1 tsp and got just a tad of heartburn)

2. Should I be feeling any heartburn at all from this? Does that mean it's not an appropriate approach for me?

3. How long should it take to see results? Should I notice a change immediately, or does it take a while?

Thanks in advance for any help you can offer!

Make sure that you have Apple Cider Vinegar with Mother.

Start with a very small amount, 1/4 of a teaspoonful if necessary, and build it up gradually. I used to put mine in a mug and top up with water.

Not sure how long it would take to see results, I can't remember and I expect we're all different.

Oh, this is really helpful. I've been taking too much of it in too little water, clearly.

What time are you taking it?

I would start sipping it five or ten minutes before I started my main meal of the day, and would sip it throughout the meal.

1) Use a straw to avoid damage to teeth from the acid.

2) After the meal rinse mouth very thoroughly with plain water. Spit it out.

3) About an hour after the water rinsing I would clean my teeth to get rid of any traces of vinegar.

Acids in the mouth, from vinegar or fruit or any other source, will soften enamel. When the acid is removed and the mouth is allowed time to "get back to normal" then the tooth enamel hardens up again. This is the reason for delaying cleaning teeth after using ACV.

I've only just started. So far, I've taken a marshmallow root pill about 5-10 mins before eating (to stimulate stomach mucus for protection). Then I've drunk the ACV at the start of my meal (a bit before the first bite, the rest after the first bite).

Thanks for reminding me to protect my teeth; hadn't thought of that.

Just a thought, what about putting it on your food, surely it has to be the same as drinking it?
