Hello all, I posted thyroid results before but I wondered that now I know what my nutrient levels are, are my nutrient levels good enough or do I need them higher? I take D3, folate and B12 amongst other things and I briefly started on “ferritin” a couple of weeks ago but when I read the label properly it said: as iron aspartate. I discontinued use to try to find out exactly what that is.but couldn’t. Strangely,, after just a few days of taking it I started to sleep soundly. It was amazing because after 21 years of struggling and battling with insomnia I could not believe it. A full 8 hours or more with only waking once for the loo. Such joy! I also take adrenavive and metavive since being diagnosed Hashimoto’s
Now you may tell me, once you read my levels, that I’m in the wrong place with them but I feel ok. Not the best ever but good enough to muddle on but it would be marvellous to get my enthusiasm and zest back. What is really bothering me is, that irrespective of what I do, I cannot shift these stubborn last few pounds (well 10 actually) and it’s making me miserable because it’s all sitting round my middle and boobs which is jolly uncomfortable and unsightly and since starting on a natural progesterone oil a week or so ago, each morning I find I’ve gained a couple of ounces. Doesn’t sound like much does it but when you’re trying to lose it, it’s a bit deflating (if only I could deflate my boobs) and over a short period, those ounces become pounds
So, ideally, I’d like to know what the optimum of all these numbers should be -and I realise it’s different for everyone - but I’d like to try to work towards them to see if I feel better and she’s some weight. Here are my nutrient levels
Ferritin 79.0 ug/L (10.0 - 291)
Folate 17.44 ug/L (> 5.38)
B12 482.0 ng/L (211 - 911)
D3 114.0
For D3 it only says above 50 is adequate for most and 75 may be beneficial to frail and elderly. I’m neither of those but I am mixed-race and so it’s preferable that my range is higher than for caucasian Europeans
It says folate should be above 5.38, which at 17.44 mine is but how much above 5.38 is satisfactory?!! Comments welcome on that particular issue very welcome. Below are thyroid results
Serum FT3 4.6 pmol/L (3.5 - 6.5)
Serum TSH < 0.03 (0.35 - 5.5)
Serum FT4 13.1 pmol/L (10.5 - 21.0)
Just had a thought; could be that it was the progesterone helping me sleep better!
Could I add a big thank you for helping me with my daughter’s blood results. It seems she’a heading in the wrong direction so we’ve started to tackle that. My son’s results will be with us soon and I’ll post them for your thoughts
Thanks again, bye for now
