Hello, another question!
I started T3 this week, sourced by myself, taking 6.25mcg daily. I am due a blood test through the GP in about a month or so and they are quite good about testing the full thyroid panel and other things like ferritin, folate and B12.
I am not sure what to say about the T3 tablets. I am realising that I have been under-medicated on the 150mcg levo and it is in my notes from last year that they have been trying to get me referred to a Chronic Fatigue clinic, although that is a little better now that I have added carbs back in (not gluten).
I am expecting a change in blood results, and don't then want them to lower my thyroxine as, depending which GP it is, they may not listen to my symptoms.
I was thinking to see a private endo to get it authorised that I need T3 so the GP would be ok with this and perhaps work with me. I have some GPs that are quite helpful. Is this a good idea and perhaps necessary?
Otherwise do I tell the GP when I get the results that I've been adding T3? Or in fact am I on such a low dose that the difference may well be negligible in the blood test results. I imagine in a month or so I will be on 12.5mcg T3 daily.
Thank you for your input I appreciate it.
Also, if anyone can PM me with details of any good endos, private and nhs, in London I would be very grateful. I got the list from Dionne but it doesn't say anything about those doctors in London prescribing T3. I thought I could go on the list to be referred to an nhs endo (a good one) but in the meantime get a private consultation so that I'm covered with the GP. How does this sound?
