Still feeling bloody shite.

Overdue a thyroid blood test (was putting it off cos I didn't want my dose going down again, with dosing by TSH). Before making the blood test appointment, I thought I d try to talk to Dr about B12 as the cross over of symptoms gives me 16 symptoms of deficiency.

Just got off the phone with the Dr who pointed out that I'd been tested less than a year ago, so cannot be tested again yet.

If I d looked at my own records, I could have worked that out.

Doh!

Rant over.

It's shit when your best laid plans fall to pieces before they even get off the ground.

You should be allowed to indulge in feeling sorry for yourself until at least Saturday, using Gin, Sweeties, Growling at children playing outside your window, or any other self indulgent pastimes that you fancy.

I'm still cross about my well crafted argument for a referral, after deliberately allowing myself to be made unwell for 6 months, was pipped to the post by 4 days due to bloody Covid.

So don that wetsuit and go catch a wave or two, do something you love, and you'll rebalance and recharge with just the wetsuit to struggle out of before a good hot shower and cosy PJ's.

Drs are worse ob B12 and Pernicious anemia than they are on thyroid,, to get Pernicious anaemia ( which is But but the Auto immune tye tested I would tell a little white lie

Say one of you parents a sibling Aunt Uncle had PA and you would like further testing for it, Im not sure by your post but I am assuming you have Hashimotos, well if you have im afraid if you get one Autoimmune that its likey more will follow, take a look at Perniciuos anemia site they have a list you can print off and show your Dr,, with that they also have a bit for health proffesionals free to look at try to get your doctor to look at that bit. so with saying you have had family with PA and you have symptoms you will need instrinta factor antibodies and Gastric Pareital cell anti bodies tested , either of these positive points to PA also bloods fro active B12 and MMA and a homocystiene test this one he may not be able to do in primary care .. anyway Drs are not taught much about b12 at med school all their blood tests are not accurate so he should give you a trial on B12 shots but he sounds ignorant from your post so you may need to push or if another GP at the surgery maybe worth going to them as some are sympathetic and will give trial if symptomatic good luck.. took me 2 years till I got a trial I had tests they all come back normal, saw different GP who gave me a trial and wow did i need that,, anyway a year later they are testing other things and my Parietal cells came back positive which means PA , but was on shots by then,, thats the only one my gp hadnt tested she had don MMA IFA and active B12 and they all came back normal.. when I had the shots my back ache went I could walk straight I no longer bumped into everything and stopped dropping things and best of all i could drive again at night as before I was night blind. so push do not give up, I have a really good research paper you could show GP Im off out now so will try post it later for you to show your GP
