Help with new lab results pls.

Hi folks,

Haven't posted in a little while. I'm temporally stuck in the USA because of the virus, so the results are from a US lab.

I'm on a T4/T3 combo. I take 75mg levo and 40mg T3. My T4 results are always very low, yet despite that, I should be feeling pretty good with these results. However I still feel very tired. I know there are some folk who believe that both T4 and T3 should be at the higher end of the range in order to restore wellbeing.

Perhaps I should increase my Levo to get T4 higher in range? Or increase T3. Thoughts?

TSH: Actual 0.56; Range (0.27-4.2); Percent through range 7.38%

T4: Actual 0.6; Range 0.9-1.8; Percent through range -33.33%

T3: Actual 3.39; Range 1.8-4.6; Percent through range 56.79%

Thanks guys!

Many people on levothyroxine plus T3 need Ft4 at least 50-60% through range

Suggest you try increasing levothyroxine by 25mcg and retest in 6-8 weeks

EXTREMELY important to test vitamin D, folate, ferritin and B12

What vitamin supplements are you currently taking?

Recommended on here that all thyroid blood tests should ideally be done as early as possible in morning and before eating or drinking anything other than water .

Last dose of Levothyroxine 24 hours prior to blood test. (taking delayed dose immediately after blood draw).

This gives highest TSH, lowest FT4 and most consistent results. (Patient to patient tip, best not mentioned to GP or phlebotomist)

If/when also on T3, make sure to take last third or half of daily dose 8-12 hours prior to test, even if this means adjusting time or splitting of dose day before test

Is this how you do your tests?

Thanks SlowDragon , yes that's pretty much how I test.

I'm curious, many say that T3 should be relatively high and TSH should be relatively low to restore wellbeing, but does T4 also need to be relatively high as well? Or is it largely irrelevant if T3 is high and TSH is low?
