Advice with T3 / Levo combo pls

Sorry for the questions but I know you lot will help me out as I've confused myself!

Current doses: Levo 50 / 75 mcg alternate and 20mcg T3

Current symptoms : tired, foggy and gaining weight at a rate of knots...I supplement with B's, D3,Selenium ACE,Magnesium.

My recent results :

T4- 6.3 ( 10-24.5)

T3- 3.3 ( 3.1 - 6.8)

1) When I calculate the 'optimal' range it should be T4 at 20.8 and T3 at 4.3 ( I think, based on the subtracting bottom range from top then x .75 ( T4) or .33 9T3)+ lower range - but am I right in thinking T4 will be lower if T3 is optimal? And have I calculated the right optimal?!

2) If both should be higher do I increase both Levo and T3 OR just T3 or just Levo?

3) I have asked to increase T3 but flippin new ( again) Dr has not got back to me so any sources of T3 ( by PM only) would help as I only get 28 T3 tablets prescribed at a time.

TIA

I don't know where you got that formula for calculating 'optimal', but I would not be happy with my FT3 that low! It's not even mid-range, and most people - me included - need it up the top of the range to feel well.

The point of thyroid hormone replacement is to keep slowly increasing the dose until you feel well, and no matter where the level falls in the range when you do feel well, that is optimal for you. Mathematical formulas and rations, etc., have nothing to do with it.

Do you feel well on your present dose? If yes, stay on it. If no, increase it. It's as simple as that. :)

No I don't and yes I will - thanks- but does the T4 also need to be raised? Tx.

75% of the way through the range for Free T3 = 3.1 + ((6.8 - 3.1) x 0.75) = 5.875

50% of the way through the range for Free T3 = 3.1 + ((6.8 - 3.1) x 0.5) = 4.95

2/3rds of the way through the range for Free T3 = 3.1 + ((6.8 - 3.1) x 2 / 3) = 5.57
