My thyroglobulin antibodies are off the chart. 500+

My TSH was almost 4 but all other levels were good. Also decent vitamin D and Iron levels.

I’m 41, struggling to loose a small bit of excess weight (bmi is almost 27) and my energy & sleep could be better but I feel fine otherwise. Good skin, hair and nails.

Do I have hashimoto’s?

Mine are 4000 and have been for years they did once drop to 2500 but then shot up again. I think it is because my thyroid is under attack but I feel well at the moment strangely enough. If your TSH is nearly 4 that is too high and should be 1 or lower.

Yes high TG antibodies strongly suggests Hashimoto’s

healthline.com/health/antit...

NHS doesn’t acknowledge Hashimoto’s (They call it autoimmune thyroid disease) unless TPO antibodies are also high

Majority of Hashimoto’s patients have high TPO or high TPO and high TG antibodies but significant minority only have high TG antibodies

For full Thyroid evaluation you need TSH, FT4 and FT3 plus both TPO and TG thyroid antibodies tested. Also EXTREMELY important to test vitamin D, folate, ferritin and B12

Low vitamin levels are extremely common, especially if you have autoimmune thyroid disease (Hashimoto's) diagnosed by raised Thyroid antibodies

Ask GP to test vitamin levels

Recommended on here that all thyroid blood tests should ideally be done as early as possible in morning and before eating or drinking anything other than water .

This gives highest TSH, lowest FT4 and most consistent results. (Patient to patient tip, best not mentioned to GP or phlebotomist)

Is this how you do your tests?

Private tests are available as NHS currently rarely tests Ft3 or thyroid antibodies or all relevant vitamins

Hi,

Thanks for the advice.

My Vitamin D, Folate, Ferritin and B12 are all optimal so no worries there. Yes, I took the tests first think in the morning before food however the test pack said to drink two glasses of water so i did that before i took my blood.

Yes, you have Hashimoto! Number one try to eliminate from your diet any gluten consisting food, and sugar. Buy on Amazon good book“ Thyroid secrets“ by Izabella Wentz . Excellent book with a lot Of very useful information.
