It's scary looking at Internet. I'm not an expert on your tests and I'm sure someone on here will give you advice. Good luck with everything tomorrow.

Hi B12jab, hope everything is OK for you. I'm similar, so tired for the longest time, it's now my default answer when people ask how I am, I respond "tired". I also had the Thriva blood test done and my TgAb was well over 400. Seen my GP last week who referred to Endocrinology, I was expecting a long wait, but I have appointment tomorrow. I'm now terrified about what this all means.

I’m sick of feeling so unwell the feeling of malaise and crippled with fatigue ,have you had any insight as to what the tgba antibodies raised means?

No my GP didn't really do much other than have a feel of my neck and then say he would refer me. It is really rubbish feeling so lousy all the time, I feel like I can't plan to do too much or it wipes me out, fed up of the house being so messy all the time too. Fingers crossed fire answers soon. I know my vit D is super low too, despite supplements, kind of hopng it's all related to that and a stronger dose will give me the energy boost I need.

High TG antibodies can be due to rheumatoid arthritis, Pernicious Anaemia or Type one diabetes

Have you had vitamin D, folate and ferritin tested

Hi B12ab, I see that you have concerns about the elevated TgAb being connected to cancer. So I would like to let you know that my TgAb is at 400. That is even higher than yours and has been like this for many years. While any cancer can ever be excluded completely I would really not worry about it too much. If it helps, really learn about the connection between thyroid cancer and thyroglobulin. For now elevated TgAb means that your body is attacking your thyroid, that you have an autoimmunity called Hashimoto's thyroiditis. The good news is that, according to the research we have at this point, TgAb does not cause as severe symptoms as TPO. In my experience most doctors don't even know about TgAb. If you can convince your doctor to regularly have an ultra sound done on the thyroid that will give you peace of mind. For me learning about thyroid disorders and autoimmunity was very important. Knowledge really can be power. You will find, as many here, that many doctors are poorly educated about thyroid issues and that it has not been well researched until now. It is mostly up to you to educate and find the best way to help yourself. But it is, of course, better to have a knowledgeable doctor on your side as well. If you can find one. For thyroid issues I can recommend the books by Izabella Wenz. They have a lot of information combined in one place (better than working your way through the internet ;) ) and also suggestions on what you can try to improve your condition. It is a marathon not a sprint to find out what works for you because every body is different. I also liked reading Dr. Terry Wahls' book. She has a different autoimmune disease, Multiple Sclerosis, which she wrestled into remission. If nothing else her story is inspiring as is Jennifer Esposito's. She also suffers from an autoimmune disease, Celiac. Many inspiring books out there to lift you up. And there is always this community to look out for you. Hang in there.

That is so kind of you to reply,I’ve been in a terrible state today,I suffer with the most crippling low energy and could literally sleep my life away,I can’t remember how it felt to wake full of energy ready for the day ahead! A year and half ago I had a thyroid panel checked all normal so I pad for the antibodies tests with medichecks and the tgba was elevated at 196 normal tpo, I asked for a scan of thyroid and all was well,so I kind of forgot about the thyroid, but most recently I feel almost bed bound so I had full bloods with doctor all fine, but again paid for the antibodies with medichecks and again tgba still elevated but at 156,then of course I go online to the Facebook groups and posted my concerns and a lady said it was an indication to cancer! My stomach churned I was shaking and I’ve been a mess since! My doc is referring me to an endo and il ask again for another scan on thyroid, I just want answers as to why this antibodies are raised alone ? Is this Hashimotos

Thanks so much for listening x

Stick with this Group as you will get sound advice. My TGab is over 800 but I have Hashimoto’s. Being hypothyroid will definitely make you feel tired and low energy. Try not to worry for now. Others, more experienced than me, will step in and contribute to this thread giving you suggestions. 😀🌈

Thing is all other bloods are fine and tpo too,if that were elevated I’d think right it’s defo Hashimotos but becos it’s only the tgba I’m worried terrible xx

Hi again. Here is a fairly reliable source called pubmed, where peer reviewed research is published. Not everything you are told or you find online is correct. It can be very daunting to sort that out. I'm sorry you are going through this right now. I give you the link for you to see that elevated TgAb is an indication of Hashimoto's. Doctors will look at your bloods and will not do anything until your thyroid is destroyed to the point that it can not produce thyroid hormones in sufficient amounts. Then your TSH goes up. When it's high enough your doctor will usually only replace a hormone called T4. At this point doctors will/can not do anything about the autoimmune disease. You are lucky if you are taken serious. Please see what you can do now for yourself. I refer you back to Izabella Wenz (also online, but the books are more comprehensive). Your local library probably has a copy of at least one of her books for you to take a peek. Please do not despair. You will be surprised how much you can do yourself and how powerful you are. Anyway here is the link: pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/204... Stay in touch. Anybody here will do their best to help. We've been through this and still are figuring things out. You are in good hands. You'll see. You have more options than you might think and more power than you might feel right now.

Ps: I forgot to mention that autoimmunity by itself can cause you to have all sorts of issues regardless of thyroid hormone status.

Hi there I was basically in the same boat as you. Mine however is just Thyroglobulin and under it it say Cancer Monitoring. But my antibodies are fine. If you go to my profile you can look at the picture I posted. My Endo hasn't emailed me back yet she is useless

Try not to worry my Thyroglobulin antibodies have been 4000 for a couple of years now. At first I was alarmed but this does not always mean cancer. I have a multinodular goiter which is scanned every couple of years and they haven't found anything suspicious yet and my nodules are benign. Strangely I expected them to be lower when I had my last blood test but no they are still 4000. I feel very well at the moment even though they are that high.
