Why am I having a bad reaction to metavive? I have utreated hypothyroidism and waiting to see if my doctor will prescribe me ndt, I tried taking just a very small amount of metavive but I get extreme tiredness, sore throat that feels swollen, dizziness and more. Does this mean I shouldnt try any other ndt and go for a t4+t3 treatment instead? I dont do well on levothyroxine or euthyrox and my backup plan was tyrosint and cytomel.

As said by numerous people in previous two posts

It’s absolutely ESSENTIAL to test vitamin D, folate, ferritin and B12

These all need to be at GOOD levels for levothyroxine or NDT or T3 to work

As you were on 125mcg levothyroxine and now not been taking anything for some time your vitamin levels are likely to be EXTREMELY low

Have you had thyroid levels tested recently?

Kailey99,

Good advice from SlowDragon.

Also if you are hashi, you may need to work on reducing antibody levels before introducing porcine thyroid gland which can trigger a hashi attack in a very responsive auto-immune system.

Many people need to get levels roughly on levothyroxine and all vitamins at GOOD levels before even considering adding T3 or trying NDT

Sounds like you were not on high enough dose of levothyroxine

I was on a high enough dosage of levo, Im not going to debate levothyroxine again its not the medication for me. I take supplements and my ferritin levels are fine, even too high atm because I’ve had iron infusions.
