Pre menopause and thyroid
I don't think so. NDT is not like aspirin that works for a few hours and then is gone. Hormone builds in the blood until you find a stable dose. Your body will determine how it uses it. There may be other reasons for that feeling. Maybe you need more B12 or other B vitamins at that time.
Hi thanks for the reply..i take iron sups vit c and b vitamins..i think peri menopause can or should i say does cause hot flashes like full menopause..well i guess women are different..since thyroid produces hormones and replacing it with such..plus as women have hormones to try and balance as we hit menopause.as some use hormone replacement for menopause
I recently read on the STTM website that many women need more thyroid hormone during peri-menopause since that condition is associated with estrogen dominance and estrogen binds thyroid hormone. Then, once menopausal, estrogen dominance often diminishes and they require less thyroid hormone. That is not a general rule, of course, but maybe you'd benefit from more thyroid hormone if your free Ts are lowish.
Are you on HRT?
