Update from thyroid cancer recurrence

My intern Endo called me finally after radioactive iodine whole body scan to tell me my blood test thyroglobulin and thyroglobulin AB were good (where good when diagnosed with thyroid cancer 3 yrs ago too) but my WBS show recurrence and spread BUT the scan could be wrong and if it were up to him he would just do a WATCH and SEE approach but it’s not up to him and either Friday or Monday he will discuss my case with the other endos and call me BUT if I don’t hear from him Monday call on Tuesday ...Because he really thinks the bloodwork is golden and scan is wrong.

He originally stated this scan won’t show recurring thyroid cancer that my 2 ultra sounds are odd because it’s showing probably my psoriatic Arthritis inflammation but just to be safe we will do Radiation scan.

After I hear what the group thinks I’m going to demand second opinion these people keep destroying my health with this nonsense and don’t give a darn. How many people here would be ok with cancer recurrence with lymph node involvement that wasn’t present 3 years ago.

My husband asked do you want to wait and see if it kills my wife, is this your goal? 🤭

What a position they place a patient in - especially the family of the patient and frighten the life out of all of them. This is a link which I hope will be informative for you and family.

I think a second opinion would be a good thing to do and put up another post asking if any member can advise the name of a specialist skilled in thyroid cancer.
