Last blood test

Following feeling really bad and though I was at deaths door. My GP arranged my 3 monthly bloods. He’s good and test everything mentioned in this forum.

TSH. <0.01. MIU/L. 0.30 - 4.50

Free T3. 48.7. Pmol/L. 3.1 - 6.8

Free T4. >100. Pool/L. 10.0 - 22.0

Can any one please see if my medication is right for my bloods. Carbimazole 40mg a day and 150 mcg a day I also have Graves

Yesterday for the first time in my life I went back to bed and stayed there all day. I couldn’t lift my arm or move my legs. Just felt drained of everything. I often have those spells but not as bad.

I just don’t feel like my meds are working despite my hospital visits. I’ve been on meds now for a full year.

I don’t want my thyroid taken out !!!!

You haven't said what the 150mcg is for.

Can you give us a bit more information.

Why are you also taking Levo?

Are you on block and replace?

Have you had all thyroid antibodies tested:

TSI

TRAb

TPO

Tg

I don't have Graves, I've never been overactive nor taken Carbimazole, but those results tell me that at the moment you are very overactive with such a high FT4 and FT3 and they need bringing down, you certainly don't need Levo which is for underactive and will be giving you more thyroid hormone which will raise your FT4 and FT3.

Many thanks for your reply.

I don’t know why I’m on whatever meds. The hospital put me on them along with informing my GP

I was kept in over night again at the hospital as I was also dehydrated. If that helps.

I’ve had all tests taken as per recommended in here. That’s how I was diagnosed with Graves.

My bad spells happen a few times a month. My GP say I’m having a thyroid rush or flash or something like that. When I’m having a bad spell I don’t eat or drink for days. Sometimes 4-5 days

I would also query why you've been prescribed levothyroxine which is prescribed when we have insufficient thyroid hormones and get levo prescribed.

Maybe this link will be helpful:

Well your dehydration is obviously caused by you not drinking for days. Even if you don't feel like it you absolutely must drink something, have a glass of water nearby and take a few sips every now and then. We can't survive without fluids.

If I were you I'd book an appointment with your doctor and find out exactly what's going on.

Get a printed copy of your blood tests - post them on here, with their reference ranges, so that we can understand exactly what it is you're dealing with.

Find out about the antibodies - exactly what were tested. To have a diagnosis of Graves disease then TSI and TRAb must have been tested and come back positive. Find out if TPO and Tg were also tested (Thyroid Peroxidase and Thyroglobulin).

Ask why you are also taking Levothyroxine (which is giving you thyroid hormone on top of what you are producing yourself) when your current results show that you are extremely overactive.

You really need to start asking questions and understand exactly what it is you have and why you are being treated with whatever medication.

Yes I’m on block and replace

Well the block is either not working

And/or

You do NOT need any Levothyroxine

Your results show you are extremely hyperthyroid

See GP as mater of urgency

I have asked to see my GP but have to wait 3 weeks. Although I’m ringing each morning too for an urgent appointment too but they are far and few between to get.

Doctors retiring early in my surgery.

If you can't see a doctor tomorrow go to A&E

Go to surgery and take these results with you

Say you are not leaving until you are seen

I got these results from the hospital after my 3 monthly check with my Endo consultant. I told them then I was falling all over the place and not eating. Half the time I didn’t know where I was or what I was doing so they decided I should stay on bloc and replace util May 2020. They agreed they would give me a trial at coming off bloc and replace in January 2020 to see how I go ? Oh I also said I can’t sleep

I should have came off bloc and replace in September 2019.

I’m waiting for my GP to contact me if there are any changes to my medication with those results ?

I’m also trying to get an urgent appointment myself to see my G.P. myself each day.

Make sure to get seen by a doctor today

If not at GP surgery, go to A & E

I agree with SlowDragon. You need to see a doctor urgently, you should not be taking Levo with those current test results.

Just got a 10.10 appointment with my G.P.

Just back from my appointment at the GPs

The bloods I put up were in fact from my last appointment 3 months ago my recent bloods are ....

Free T3. 4.1 /3.1-6.8

Free T4. 22.1. /10.0-22.0

Thyroid function. 0.99. /0.30-4.50

He told me the idea behind bloc and replace is they try to make the over active thyroid go over active so when you come off the meds the over active thyroid behaves itself ? For more info on it I should ask my Endo doctor at the hospital more about it.

Levo has to be taken to force my thyroid over active and make my thyroid do it’s work itself to bring it under control by itself

Anything further to add guys ?

Thanks
