Urgent Advice Sought On Bovine / T3

Hello

Due to the African Swine Fever epidemic, production of Thiroyd and T.RMan, have been discontinued until further notice.

I have been looking at Bovine NDT or toying with just taking Cytomel (T3) only.

Unfortunately, Thyroid S is no good due to some of the fillers, which I know I have an reaction to.

Has anyone swapped to a Bovine NDT or to just using T3 and had good results?

Crikey @CatPaws how did you find this information out regarding the Swine Fever. I seem to be getting on fine with TR Mann, and hoping to continue.

I have been trying to get hold of more TRMan, but all the websites were sold out. I made an enquiry to my usual supplier, and contacted the other stockists, only to be told about the Swine Fever and the discontinuation, and another stockist also list this on their website.

Several suppliers of Thai NDT have confirmed the discontinuation of T.R. However, it was only recently that I saw the info about this being linked to swine fever; this info was posted on one seller's website. Now, apparently, the same thing has happened to Thiroyd.

Honestly this is so awful! I have been on TR Mann for about 6 months and am feeling the best I ever have since having my thyroid removed in 2003. It only took 16 years to find the right formula, and then this. I am stocked up for another year or so and just hope my medication is ok, or maybe it's the swine fever that's keeping me going......(sorry trying to find a bit of humour in a grim situation).

I know what you mean. It is so hard to find a formula that can be tolerated and works for you. I'm dreading the time when my TRMan supply runs out.

Can only hope and pray that it will be manufactured again, but in the meantime I'm trying to source alternatives, just in case.

I am just looking at my pot of TR Mann and the expiry date is 05/03/22 I think I have bought enough to take me to the end and then I will worry about it all when the time comes. Can you please keeps posted how you get on please? Good luck!

It is/was a brand of NDT from Thailand, but it was taken off the market a few months ago.

Thiroyd was another brand of Thai NDT which has also been taken off the market a few months ago.

The only one left from Thailand - and who knows if it will continue to be manufactured - is Thyroid-S.

Oh , I see thank you. It's very upsetting about the way things are going with ndt's I can't understand why they are all becoming unusable just disappear. Terrible worry for us

I know, it's horrible when you find something that works great for you, only to find out it has been either reformulated or discontinued.

I thought I had found something that worked for me 2 years ago Naturethroid, and then it was re-formulated and re-formulated and ruined it for me, I was so ill and could not work out why....

Yes, unfortunately, it seems all US brands of NDT plus Canadian Erfa have been reformulated and are now reported to work less well.

There is this product, manufactured in the UK and sold as a supplement:

There is also Thyrogold from the US; sold as a supplement as well. The raw material comes from New Zealand where they've never had any cases of BSE.

Hello, I'm doing great on Thyro-Gold which is a bovine NDT developed by Dr John C Lowe (who before his death was the medical expert to ThyroidUk). I've toyed with the idea of switching to Metavive if ever I have supply problems with Thyro-Gold.

Thank you. It's good to hear from someone who has taken the Bovine thyroid and is doing well. I will definitely look at these.
