I have heard that if you have hashis your to school acid will most likely be low which is my case and I have decided to give betaine hcl and pepsin a try but I have heard it’s not recomemended to take with aspirin simultaneously.... I am on a daily baby aspirin regimen and would like to know if anyone knows anything about interaction with baby aspirin or is it with bigger aspirin dosage.. any thoughts will help

I’d ask a pharmacist. They’re very knowledgeable, easy to access and free. I’ve never met one that wasn’t happy to help.

google the question and read HealthyGut.com .You will find it is a bad idea.

Anyway ,what makes you think you have low stomach acid? I thought so but was subsequently found with high acid causing ulcers and caused by lymphoma.

You should not take aspirin and betaine HCl simultaneously. Aspirin is an NSAID and you shouldn't take an NSAID with betaine HCl, it could cause stomach ulcers. You can however take full spectrum digestive enzymes if your stomach acid is low, take about 20 mins before eating. Baby aspirin is low dose aspirin but personally I wouldn't take the risk.

You may very well have low stomach acid, it's very common with Hashi's. To test whether you do, try the bicarb test first thing in the morning before eating. Stir 1/2 tsp of bicarb soda into a glass of water. Drink and see whether you burp during 5 mins following. If you burp a fair bit, your stomach acid is fine. If you hardly burp or not at all, then your stomach acid is low and you'd benefit from taking digestive enzymes.

Dr Jack Wolfson - cardiologist did a Facebook live about why nobody should take aspirin. May be on YouTube

I did the test and no burp at all or belching, i say I have low stomach acid because I feel like every meal stays in my stomach for hours, plus all the discomfort I get eating I research and everything f is pointing to low stomach acid and plus I had a hpylori infection like 2 years ago which alos lower acids in the stomach. I will retest for hpylori as it can return and cause those symptoms.. I just wanted to use the hcl meanwhile for better digestion and stave off the heartburns.. which most likely cause by low stomach acid instead of high acid.

One way to find out for certain is to have a comprehensive stool analysis test. It’s private but easy to do.

They will explain out of 4 where your stomach acid level is. Ideally you’d want 4.

The same for probiotics, Candida, bacteria and you can add on parasites too.

The bacteria you obviously need it to be as low as possible.

The Genova is the best but you’d need a Doctor to sign it or go through thyroid uk.

When I had mine done it even told me which antibiotics I was immune to, which were better for me. Also I was immune to oregano and a few things I’d taken or used on my skin.

You can’t overdo the betaine as your body will tell you when you’re at a higher level . Like a warm bloated feeling.

Given mine was nil I never reached that.

If you are not absorbing your food you will not be constipated you’ll be rushing to the loo constantly.

Enzymes help break down your food not replace the low acid.

If you need any help please ask.

See dyhill.co.uk and in the search engine on the top right hand corner type in comprehensive stool analysis.

I think increasing your stomach acid is one of those things I would recommend achieving via food rather than taking HCl acid (Yikes, the very thought of ingesting HydroChloric acid!). I just Googled what foods would raise your stomach acid and got this:

"5 ways to improve stomach acid

Limit processed foods. A balanced diet rich in fruits and vegetables can also increase your stomach acid levels. ...

Eat fermented vegetables. Fermented vegetables — such as kimchi, sauerkraut, and pickles — can naturally improve your stomach acid levels. ...

Drink apple cider vinegar. ...

Eat ginger."

Most of them sound a lot better than eating HCl. Especially pickles, Yum. Try Pickled Beetroot, Pickled onions, I don't know anything about Kimchi. I find Tomatoes very acidic, and delicious. Same goes for Grapefruit and Pineapple.

That Sodium biCarbonate test is pretty good - very simple, if you have no acid in your stomach it will not react with the Sodium BiCarbonate therefore will not produce any gas (to belch out).

Yes, but it's not as delicious as lots of vinegar on your fish and chips.
