Gave this to my daughter but it made her very gassy and bloated so we had to stop. Please could anyone advise possible causes? Thanks in advance.

Betaine HCL Pepsin: gassy reaction
If she does not have low stomach acids then too much acids can cause the symptoms. Naturally it might be various reasons, maybe her GI tract is too irritated and needs to calm down first?

Thanks Justina and Shaws. Incidentally, she had a similar reaction to Kefir and also curcumin, when I suspected it was caused by die-off. Could that be a factor here? TIA.
Not sure about curcumin, but Kefir is a fermented food and fermented foods can be a trigger of histamine issues in some. Histamine can cause a bizarre aray of symptoms, including the gassy bloating you mention. If you haven't investigated this, have a read here to get you started and then do further research if it seems relevant, as this article is just one person's thoughts on the subject.
Hi,
This just happened to me also. I also have histamine intolerance. I have been taking gradually and i got very bloated when i took 5 pills.
I dont think my stomach is iritated since i have been doing a protocol since 2 years ago. Maybe bloating is one of the sysmpthoms of too much hcl. I was wondering you had any success after.
I became bloated and the my sibo went away for a while.so the bloating was caused by bacteria dying.i was already on a antimicrobial and had given us as i thought was not working.after one week i took hcl and my sibo went away for a while.i unserstand hcl is a strong antimicrobial.
