I've read here and there on the web, about ndt (after a few thai brands have disappeared) and if I understood correctly, would be available some like, Thyroid-S, Nature-Throid and the rest are hard to find or expensive(Armour, NP, WP and WestThroid). I was on thai-Thiroyd +T3 for a while but no longer found and I went on the synthetic (levo+T3) and I don't feel good. Thyroid-S, Nature-Throid don't suit me. Maybe there is another ndt brand and I don't know. Thai-Thiroyd it suited me best .
That's why I asked the question here.

I went on the synthetic (levo+T3) and I don't feel good.
Maybe you haven't yet reached your optimal doses. It's only 4 days since you posted that you changed your doses of both Levo and T3 at the same time a few days ago and wondered when to retest. I did explain that we should only change one thing at a time. Also, it takes 6-8 weeks for levels to stabilise so you wont be feeling the effects of your most recent dose changes yet.
Yes but in these 4 days I realized that the T3 jump was too high for me, so I decided to return to the initial dose (125levo +5T3 and another 5mcgT3 in the afternoon), on this dose I am from oct.'19. But don't feel great on this dose. If I decreased or increased the levo, I feel even worse. I would like to go back on ndt.
That's fine, but sourcing NDT without prescription is extremely difficult at the moment, and I only know of Thyroid-S being available without prescription. Also as it has to come from overseas there are currently severe delays with everything.
Have you thought about trying Metavive, a thyroid glandular? Although there is no declared hormone content, some people have found it suits them. It's available in the UK so it's easier to get at the moment than anything from overseas. Only one supplier, easily found on Google.
Metavive? Hm, sounds interesting. On the other hand I can get recipe for ndt, no problem. My private endo is open mind and cooperative. In my country where I live, we don't need for prescription only if they are compensated drugs. Otherwise in pharmacies I can buy without a prescription any amount of levothyroxine. The only problem is to find another ndt that suits me and of course Covid 19 problems, who messed everything.
However I will wait a few months and I will try again with ndt. For the moment, I will struggle with the synthetic.
It is helpful for other members if you specify in your profile which country you live in. Most of the members on this forum are from the UK and they could spend half an hour telling you stuff only relevant to the UK, not realising they are wasting their time and energy.
I'm from Romania, Euthyrox is available here in 25, 50 and 100mcg strengs and Novothyral 100. But now I take Tirosint bcs the new formula of Euthyrox(excipients containt now manitol instead lactose) is not suite me at all. A period was out of stock.
Yes, it was very unfortunate that they reformulated Euthyrox, especially after all the problems reported with UK brand Teva which also contains mannitol. It seems mannitol is problematic as a filler in thyroid drugs...back when I was on T4 only I found Euthyrox to be the best brand, so it´s really a shame they started messing with it
There is a new Thai NDT available. I received an email from the seller recently about it now being available. It seems to be more like Thiroyd in that it does not contain as many fillers as Thyroid-S. I will PM you details.
Yes, I think it´s only been available for a week or so, and it may take some time before orders can be shipped outside Thailand. But I hope people who decide to try it will post here!
I contacted the seller of Tru Thyroid and he replied; "Tru Thyroid is our in house brand. We have produced it from local pig source here in Thailand,...it is aluminum free, gluten free and lactose free. It contains no heavy metals whatsoever, and the only metals at all are considered essential minerals. The entire ingredient list is included on the packaging:
Natural Desiccated Thyroid Powder (porcine)
Microcrystalline Cellulose
Dicalcium Phosphate
Magnesium Stearate
Each tablet contains exactly 1/2 grain (32 mg) of natural desiccated thyroid powder, and 2 tablets are hormone equivalent to 1 tablet of Thyroid-S. (39 mcg T4 and 9 mcg T3).
This is the first of many tablets we have planned for this line. It is an uncoated tablet, similar to Thiroyd from Greater Pharma. We hope to be producing an enteric coated tablet later in the year as well....."
Thank you for this info. They have chosen an unfortunate time to launch a new product, given the mega issues with postal delays due to lockdowns in so many countries!
Absolutely! This info first appeared on their website before Christmas, and the message back then was that they were in the process of formulating their own brand of NDT as an alternative to Thiroyd (discontinued by manufacturer a year ago), and it was only a few days ago that I received the email alert that the new product was now available. I guess it must have come as a terrible shock to them when they realised this coincided with the pandemic...it must be a nightmare trying to market a new product at a time like this.
Hi. I have been in Thiroyd for many years and am now running out. I have sourced some but cannot find a way to pay as will only accept e transfer which uk banks do not do. Does anyone know how to pay to an email address not using paypal as that was not accepted. Thanks
