hi there, just wondering if anyone has a paper or article i can quote at my next appt at gp. i am on NDT thiroyd and am doing fine on it, i feel pretty normal - however at my last two blood tests (my tsh is very suppressed (00.1) i know this is normal when you are on NDT but my gp wants to talk to me about it. i didnt do well on levo, put on a huge amount of weight, fluid retention, swollen leg etc. i need to convince her that this is normal and would appreciate any comments or articles i can discuss with her. my surgery doesnt do t3 tests, as i believe is the norm now

If your GP is not prescribing the NDT, you don't need to discuss it with her, not does she need to test your TSH
Hi Sorry no words of wisdom here, just to say I also use NDT as levo worked for a me for a few years then stopped. My GP knows I am on NDT. My last blood test results was TSH 00.1. My GP advised levels OK for patient. So although he will not discuss NDT he is OK with me using it if it helps me.
When questioned about this by my GP (who thought I was going to drop dead at any moment!), I just said, very confidentiality, "Oh good, the block and replace is working well". The GP accepted this as he did not know anything about NDT. I think he may have put this in the notes as I have not been pulled on it since!
