Having been on Livial for many years with great results I was given generic tibolone some months back and wonder if this could be the reason for return of some symptoms particularly lack of energy and depression types symptoms?

Livial versus generic Tibolone
I am sorry I cannot answer your question, but I'm very interested in your experiences using Livial and chose to post it here rather than sending a PM in case others could benefit as well:
Today, incidentally, I spoke to a friend who's been on LIvial for the past three years. She's 55, so five years older than me, and way past menopause. It seems you should not take Livial until you've been "period-free" for at least twelve months...
Anyway, my friend told me she's never felt better, and cannot imagine ever going off it.
I'm 50, have had irregular periods for the past eight months which is a sign of menopause approaching but i'm not there just yet...every time I think/hope I am, they come back...I've been on Estrogel and Utrogestan for a few years and, when my periods became erratic, my doctor suggested I started using both day 5-25 of cycle (I used to apply Estrogel day 5-25 and take Utrogestan day 15-25). Since starting to take Utrogestan along with Estrogel for a total of 25 out of 30 days, I have a feeling my symptoms are getting worse: intense sweating, mood changes, depression...one thing is certain, and that is that taking Utrogestan 25 days a month instead of ten has not made me feel better...which is interesting, considering that many experts claim that most women are progesterone rather than estrogen deficient. However, taking the same amount of estrogen, along with an increased amount of progesterone, has not made things easier for me...quite on the contrary. That is why I'm so interested in other people's experiences using other options.
When you say you felt great on Livial, what were your symptoms before going on it? I'm trying to ascertain whether I'd be a good candidate for it once I've been period-free for twelve consecutive months...
My main symptom was a feeling of pointlessness. I didn’t want to get up in the mornings couldn’t see anything getting better then started on Livial. All I can say is wow! I felt positive about life, got my libido back and I started taking them before my periods had finished, I am now nearly 62. My GP back then was so understanding and recommended this course of treatment saying his wife had benefited from it. This is why I am wondering whether brand change has caused a slight return of symptoms.
