Previous Medichecks results showed you were extremely hypothyroid and needed dose increase up from 75mcg to 100mcg Levothyroxine.

Did GP increase dose to 100mcg ?

Bloods should be retested 6-8 weeks after each dose increase

As you have Hashimoto's have you now changed to strictly gluten free diet?

Gluten free is often Lower carb diet too

Both can help....but most important by far is to be on correct replacement dose of thyroid hormones

I’m asking for peoples diets and how well it’s helping with weight loss. I’m on 120 NDT now and bloods are back tomorrow. Regardless of my readings it always good to try eating better isn’t it? I tried gluten free and made no difference . So don’t believe I have an intolerance. Thinking of cutting out most carbs though anyway

Did you test TPO antibodies before and after being strictly gluten free for 3-4 months. This can sometimes be the only indication that it's helpful, slow drop in TPO antibodies

Weight gain is a hypothyroid symptom, and it can be impossible to lose weight until dose is optimal. Restricting calories is not a good idea when hypo, as it can prevent the hormone from working, making us even more hypo and therefore gain more.

All you can do is eat a healthy diet, without restricting calories or skipping meals, and hang in there while adjusting dose and treating vitamin deficiencies.

Once on the right dose for some lucky ducks the weight just falls off.

I had a quick click back to your previous post that SlowDragon linked. That was about two months ago, but it tends to take six months or more to get dosage optimal. Just make sure you are getting repeat blood tests and having your dose adjusted every 6 weeks or so (NHS may make you wait quite a bit longer).

High (saturated) fat and low carbs, gluten free appears to be optimal. There are few good books explaining the mechanism behind this approach. For example: Wolfgang Lutz - Life Without Bread, or Optimal Nutrition by Jan Kwasniewski
