I'm getting to the stage now that I have just about had enough! I know from advice I have had from you lovely people that I am undermedicated but even trying to raise my levo by 6.5 mcg is causing me severe adrenaline problems. It only happens when my stress levels are up. I just can't cope first thing in the morning or through the night. I'm getting no help from my GP as all they do is tell me I shouldn't be taking thyroxine and that my private go who diagnosed me should never have done so. If I call my private go costs me a fortune and he does all the talking and nothing you can't tell me on here. I've had cortisol tests that came back normal over 24hrs but a bit low in the morning. Private doc tells me my progesterone supplement is what is keeping my cortisol normal. Which I believe to be true because I cannot stop my progesterone if I do I get bad adrenaline rush exactly the same. My thyroid problem seems to be central as TSH just doesn't rise above 2.5 and thyroxine shuts it down very quickly but it bounced back to 2.5 again after a few months? As pituitary balances everything including my hormones which are also screwed up who can help me? I've been looking for a private endo but ones I've found reckon like my GP that adrenal fatigue doesn't exist? Help please, anyone know of an endo who will treat my adrenals?

BEFORE seeing any thyroid specialist you need FULL Thyroid and vitamin testing after minimum of 6-8 weeks on constant unchanging dose of thyroid hormones
what are you currently taking? Levothyroxine?
Better to wait at least 10-12 weeks if reduced dose

For full Thyroid evaluation you need TSH, FT4 and FT3 plus both TPO and TG thyroid antibodies tested. Also important to test vitamin D, folate, ferritin and B12
Low vitamin levels are extremely common, especially if Thyroid antibodies are raised or if dose is reduced
Recommended on here that all thyroid blood tests should ideally be done as early as possible in morning and fasting. This gives highest TSH, lowest FT4 and most consistent results. (Patient to patient tip, best not mentioned to GP or phlebotomist)
Last Levothyroxine dose should be 24 hours prior to test, (taking delayed dose immediately after blood draw).
If/when also on T3, or NDT make sure to take last dose 8-12 hours prior to test, even if this means adjusting time or splitting of dose day before test
Is this how you do your tests?
Private tests are available. Thousands on here forced to do this as NHS often refuses to test FT3 or antibodies or all vitamins

Medichecks Thyroid plus ultra vitamin or Blue Horizon Thyroid plus eleven are the most popular choice. DIY finger prick test or option to pay extra for private blood draw. Both companies often have special offers, Medichecks usually have offers on Thursdays, Blue Horizon its more random
I have done all the tests with blue horizon and you pointed out to me that I was undermedicated. You suggested I raise my dose slowly by 12.5mcg alternate days which I have been doing. But I'm jittery, anxious and this morning my heart rate went mad again for about 10 minutes. I didn't panic and phone an ambulance today as I'm fed up of how they treat me even though my heart rate hits 170+ my vit levels are now very good but may be a bit shaky after having a GA for a hysteroscopy two weeks ago. My cortisol was normal but my hormones are all low except my estrogen which is still high for my age. I just need an endo please who will look at the whole picture? I've had a very stressful life.
