Not sure how else to post my labs so I’m making 3 posts because I can only add one photo per comment 😬
T4 labs: Not sure how else to post my labs so I’m... - Thyroid UK
T4 labs
Your profile shows you had total thyroidectomy
Your bloods show you are currently very under treated and FT4 is low and FT3 is significantly UNDER RANGE
How much Levothyroxine are you currently taking?
You need vitamin D, folate, ferritin and B12 tested too
Likely to need addition of small dose of T3
But important to get vitamins tested first.
For full Thyroid evaluation you need TSH, FT4 and FT3 tested. Also extremely important to test vitamin D, folate, ferritin and B12
Low vitamin levels are extremely common, especially if under medicated
Recommended on here that all thyroid blood tests should ideally be done as early as possible in morning and fasting. This gives highest TSH, lowest FT4 and most consistent results. (Patient to patient tip, best not mentioned to GP or phlebotomist)
Last Levothyroxine dose should be 24 hours prior to test, (taking delayed dose immediately after blood draw).
If/when you are also on T3, make sure to take last dose 8-12 hours prior to test, even if this means adjusting time or splitting of dose day before test
Is this how you do your tests?
Private tests are available. Thousands on here forced to do this as NHS often refuses to test FT3 or antibodies or all vitamins

Medichecks Thyroid plus ultra vitamin or Blue Horizon Thyroid plus eleven are the most popular choice. DIY finger prick test or option to pay extra for private blood draw. Both companies often have special offers, Medichecks usually have offers on Thursdays, Blue Horizon its more random
What vitamin supplements do you currently take?
I don't think that is FT3, is it? The range looks more like TT3.
Reading earlier posts think you are on 175mcg Levothyroxine plus 2 x 5mcg T3
This will reduce TSH to zero (as seen in your tests) regardless of wether on high enough replacement dose

Is this how you do your tests?
If so........You clearly need increase in T3 ......suggest you add third 5mcg dose T3
Retesting in 6-8 weeks
Sister has Hashimoto. I had thyroid cancer with total thyroidectomy
