I’ve swopped between the 2 . I had bad migraines on NDT only .i have gone back to Levo but feel sluggish with weight gain and joint pain back with a vengeance. Has been suggested to try a small amount of both . I’m awaiting a full blood test so will post .Thanks

Does anyone taking NDT add a little t4 too ?
Hi
Yes I take 2 grains of NDT everyday day, & 12.5 mcg of T4 every other day with my 2 grains of NDT.
You really need to see what your blood results say first, before you experiment.
I did this as my T3 results were over range by a lot and I had symptoms, so knew if I increased my NDT it would send it even higher.
my T4 results were below range, by adding T4, and lowering my NDT, it has lowered my T3 results, increased my T4. I’m not perfect but a lot better.
Best wishes

I had headaches with NDT at first, but they settled down eventually and as long as I took doses regularly on time would have no problems. However I need T3 with NDT.
I take NDT with T3 which works well for me as the latter is easier to adjust by the day/week/season.
I take varying amounts of T4 + NDT.
Right now trialing 1.25 grains NDT and 25 mcg Synthroid.
Doc keeps wanting to decrease T4 and increase NDT because of high RT3 in my test results, but I'm realizing that I personally feel better with more T4 on board, with a higher T4 to T3 ratio than I can get from NDT alone.
Without more T4 in my dose, I start to feel depressed, anxious, get tired (like someone hit me with a hammer tired), feel joint pain, etc.
I've had a total thyroidectomy though, so that probably makes a difference in my optimal meds than if I still had some gland function.
