Muscle aches

Hello, I have been on a combination drug here in Mexico called Novotiral (100mcg/20mcg). It has worked great now for a year. However, the last six months I have experienced muscle aches, tightness, stiffness. I have read that it may be a side affect of hypothyroid. Is it due to to little or too much thyroid medicine? Or can it even be corrected with T4 or T3?

Muscle aches can be low Vit D.

What are your latest test results, with reference ranges, for

TSH

FT4

FT3

Thyroid antibodies

Vit D

B12

Folate

Ferritin

That will give us a full picture of whether or not you are optimally medicated thyroid-wise with optimal nutrient levels.

Do you have your recent FT4 FT3 TSH Vitamin "D" values ? They are very telling together with your symptoms . Aches and pain can be from having high FT4 /FT3 and very low TSH as well . I would suggest if you've been on this dose for 4-6 weeks to run labs with FT4 FT3 TSH vitamin "D" , B-12/folate , Iron /ferritin .

Best Wishes for fast and successful resolution .

Results today are a little high in T4free. The dr had prescribed the 100/20 and to cut 25mgof T4 in half six months ago to increase my other levels. Now we are eliminating that extra /t 4 and only will be taking 100/20.

Tomorrow will be tested for potassium, calcium, sodium, fosphorus, magnesium, and Vit D levels. She feels the T4 could have lowered my potassium and thus caused the muscle tightness. Before prescribing will look at lab results.
