Ultrasound results wait!

How long have other people waited for ultrasound results? The radiologist told me I will probably be back with him in a few weeks for biopsies even though he isn't concerned of cancer. I just wondered what other peoples timescales have been like for thyroid and how they received them? Thanks 😁

Hi Cazza83, I had a thyroid ultrasound about 10yr ago and they told me there an then. Recently had an unrelated ultra sound and took 2/3 days to come back to my GP

Thank you! Appreciate the response. I received mine on Friday, next I have a biopsy so hopefully that isnt too long a wait

Yeah I had the ultrasound because they saw a big lump in left side of chest on a chest xray, so I was referred for ultrasound as they thought it looked like a mediastinal goitre. The radiologist was pretty informative and said it is a retrosternal goitre and that I would probably have an fna. That was only bit I was confused about as I thought you only biopsied lumps that were suspicious on an ultrasound. I got my actual results on Friday and I have a multinodular goitre with retrosternal extension. Mainly benign but the big one is indeterminate from ultrasound as it is slightly vascular so that's why im having a biopsy. Its classed as u3. Hope everything has been okay for you, and thank you for your advice! I'll make sure I ask plenty of questions

Yeah it's strange because the radiologist wasnt concerned at all, then I get results saying indeterminate so I dont know what to think. Thanks!! Fingers crossed
