I had a thyroid ultrasound on 1st July and I have still not heard anything. This was put on the 2 week wait and I have chased the GP and the consultants secretary and nobody can seem (or can’t) to tell me anything. Has anyone ever experienced a long wait for results? All the other tests I’ve ever had which were normal came back within a few days (for other things).
The sonographer said after the scan that he had found a nodule which was around 2cm but didn’t tell me anything else. Just getting a little anxious now.

Hiya, yes I’ve got the app and nothing has come up yet. I spoke to someone at the hospital and they said they could see a letter had been sent to the GP on the 11th July but it can take 10 days to get to them!! They also said they couldn’t open the letter so they couldn’t tell me anything. I just thought it was taking a long time compared to the normal test results I’ve gotten in the past
I had an ultrasound scan on my thyroid and from memory I think it took a good while for the results to come through. However, the radiologist did give me a lot of information at the time. I have lots of nodules but they didn't seem overly concerned. I intend to have ultrasounds done privately at regular intervals. I wish I'd been less trusting and more proactive with my health in the past.
He didn’t really tell me anything other that the lump I found was a nodule. I asked how big it was and he said around 2cm, he then went on to tell me that they don’t do FNA’s on them anymore if they don’t think it needs it. I would like a biopsy doing just to put my mind at ease but not sure I’ll get this if they don’t feel I need one!
I have just read your last post,I’m so glad they are finally giving you treatment. I also think I could have central hypothyroidism as that’s the way my bloods are looking and I had huge blood loss in all three of my births which can damage the pituitary gland. Only time will tell and yes you are right I need to learn to be more proactive and firm when I am speaking to the doctors. I think I will also have private ultrasounds if they don’t think any treatment is necessary.
