Can Nexium and Zydol interact with eltroxin. I'm on 80mg Nexium and was on 3 100mg slow release Zydol after my operation 8 weeks ago. I am now down to 1 Zydol each day and I'm just wondering if they interact with eltroxin and if that's why my thyroid is kicking up or is it a mix of all the drugs pumped into me after the operation and me spending 4 days in intensive care heavily sedated. It was a week after the operation that they started to give me my thyroid meds orally and I had to ask for them. I'm feeling awful hate dragging myself along with no energy.

For information, Zydol is a branded form of Tramadol.
Nexium contains a medicine called esomeprazole. This belongs to a group of medicines called ‘proton pump inhibitors’. They work by reducing the amount of acid that your stomach produces.
I understand that it is advisable to take esomeprazole (Nexium) approx 4 hours before/after levothyroxine (Eltroxin). I found that this time frame does make a significant difference.
