Best to take progesterone at night as it can be calming and make you sleepy so it suits to keep thyroid meds first thing
The interaction with HRT and thyroid hormones is more to do with the fact that the HRT increases Thyroid Binding Hormones which can mean you'll need a little extra to keep your levels up.
Like you say, get started on the HRT and check your levels to re-balance things out
I’m on oestrogel Vagifem utrogestan vaginally and Androfeme, I’ve been told no interaction with my T3 whatsoever and after 2 years I can confirm that but check bloods after 6 weeks will confirm that .. good luck
Interesting Lola1956, I am taking similar to you Oestrogel, Vagirux, Crinone (utrogestan alternative) but no Androfeme and I had to increase my T3 by a third. Wonder if the Androfeme makes the difference?
Hi Cecy69, I have been on Thyroxine and Liothyronine for more than 20 years.During that time I was using Estrodol patches and had the mirena coil. I can't say that I noticed any reaction at the time - I hadn't even thought about a reaction to be honest, that was before I found this site. I had to have the coil removed due to vaginal bleeding a few years ago and they put me on the combination patches, which didn't suit me so I came off it altogether. I am o.k. now without anything, apart from getting fat around my middle! I guess that's the menopause as I don't eat a lot and walk and dance, but can't seem to get rid of it. Anyone with any suggestions?
Putting weight on around your middle (belly) can be a sign of cortisol problems. Have you had a four point cortisol test by Regenerus (which also includes DHEA)?
