What is the unit of measurement for your Vit D - ng/ml or nmol/L
The Vit D Council recommends a level of 125nmol/L (50ng/ml) and the Vit D Society recommends a level of 100-150nmol/L (40-60ng/ml).
So if yours is ng/ml then 70 is over their recommended level, if it's nmol/L then you have some way to go.
There are important cofactors needed when taking D3 as recommended by the Vit D Council -
vitamindcouncil.org/about-v...
D3 aids absorption of calcium from food and K2-MK7 directs the calcium to bones and teeth where it is needed and away from arteries and soft tissues where it can be deposited and cause problems such as hardening of the arteries, kidney stones, etc.
D3 and K2 are fat soluble so should be taken with the fattiest meal of the day, D3 four hours away from thyroid meds if taking tablets/capsules/softgels, no necessity if using an oral spray
Magnesium helps D3 to work. We need Magnesium so that the body utilises D3, it's required to convert Vit D into it's active form. So it's important we ensure we take magnesium when supplementing with D3.
Magnesium comes in different forms, check to see which would suit you best and as it's calming it's best taken in the evening, four hours away from thyroid meds if taking tablets/capsules, no necessity if using topical forms of magnesium.

Check out the other cofactors too (some of which can be obtained from food).
it is ng/ml but the range is 30-100
Thee are "categories" with Vit D - Deficient, Insufficient, Sufficient, etc.
The sufficient category for ng/ml is 30-100.
The Vit D Council recommends 50ng/ml and the Vit D Society recommends 40-60ng/ml as mentioned. The Vit D Council says, in the link I gave
My level is between 60-80 ng/ml
You’re getting the right amount of vitamin D by the standards set by the Vitamin D Council and Endocrine Society. The Institute of Medicine, however, doesn’t feel there is enough evidence to say that having a level higher than 50 ng/ml is of any benefit.
So whether you want to keep ours at the level it is is up to you but there doesn't seem to be any need. You now need a maintenance dose rather than 8000iu daily, more likely to be 1000-2000iu, we have to find our maintenance dose by trial and error. And when supplementing with Vit D we need to retest twice a year to ensure we don't reach toxicity level and stay around the recommended level.
You can test Vitamin D on NHS website now. Mine has taken two years but is now around 100. That man took too much for to long without testing. Do you take K2 with your Vitamin D these two work together to place your calcium into the bones and teeth and not into the soft tissue.
yes i take a k2 pill everyday along with magnesium with fish oils and fatty meal. i will make sure to get it tested again thank you. that article worried me lol
