I've got bipolar 1 and hashimoto's they've ruled out graves
Currently in a manic episode and I'm wondering if the antimanic drugs are making me more hypothyroid and whether I need to take more NDT the drugs they put me on are quetiapine and lamictal and a very low dose of diazepam which I don't always take. I have a great doctor who always listens and we collaborate what the best course of action is.
On 4 grains of NDT and TSH suppressed but T3 and T4 are usually low in the range that's pretty the psychiatric medsplease don't ask me to post those I don't have them
Been feeling quite cold
Any advice appreciated read the antipsychotics effect on NDT and hashimoto's

That should have read those were my levels before the psychiatric meds. Since the meds the levels seem to be the same but I don't feel the same I feel cold
The antithyroid effect of lithium is well documented, but this study looked at the comparative hypothyroid risk of nine common bipolar disorder therapies in a large US study, including quetiapine:
Additionally, that you are currently going through a manic phase, may be having its own effects on your HPT axis and various feedback mechanisms, irrespective of the drugs. This is also a useful read if it's unfamiliar to you:
Don't know whether you can get this checked, but you may want to ask your GP to look for pyroluria. "Pyroluria can be diagnosed through a specific Kryptopyrroles urine test. " Bipolar people seem to have a problem absorbing or holding onto some b vitamins and zinc. I know that the case is very similar for autism and that b6 (as p-5-p) and zinc are very helpful. Supplementing both could help with your low thyroid symptoms as well.
Being low in zinc is bad for your adrenal glands and hormone production and you may have zinc deficiency symptoms like weak nails. Being low in b6 will raise homocysteine levels and cause a kind of anemia (like iron deficiency anemia with small red blood cells) and reduce your white cell count which makes you more prone to illness - it'll also mean you have general anxiety.
My basal temperature first thing in the morning is the hi 34 or just at 35. I've upped my dose as I was feeling so cold so I'm now taking 5 or 6 my pulse is between 70 and 85.
