Serum folate - 9.3ug/l ( 3.9 - 26.8 )

Serum Vitamin B12 - 479 ng/l (197-771)

Combined total Vitamin D2 and D3 - 51nmol/l ( 50 - 200 )

Serum ferritin - 23 ug/l ( 13 - 150 )

Serum tsh - 0.42 (0.27 - 4.2)

Free T4 - 19 (12-22)

Should I supplement and if so how much? Do I need loading doses of D3?

Sorry your post was missed, this is an extremely busy forum

Clearly some of your vitamin levels need improving

You also need FT3 tested

Presumably you have Hashimoto's?

Vitamin D is too low. Aiming to improve to at least 80nmol and around 100nmol may be better .

Vitamin D mouth spray by Better You is good as avoids poor gut function.

Suggest you supplement 2000iu for 2-3 months and retest.

It's trial and error what dose each person needs.

Once you Improve level, very likely you will need on going maintenance dose to keep it there.

Retesting twice yearly via vitamindtest.org.uk

B12 and folate on the low side. Supplementing a good quality daily vitamin B complex, one with folate in not folic acid may be beneficial.

B vitamins best taken in the morning after breakfast

Recommended brands on here are Igennus Super B complex. (Often only need one tablet per day, not two). Or Jarrow B-right

If you are taking vitamin B complex, or any supplements containing biotin, remember to stop these 7 days before any blood tests, as biotin can falsely affect test results

Ferritin is low. See if you can get GP to do full iron panel testing for Anaemia

Iron is not DIY. You need more testing if possible

Eating liver or liver pate once a week should/could help improve levels

Only add one supplement at a time or make one change at a time and wait at least ten days to assess before any other changes.

Are you on strictly gluten free diet?

Thanks for your reply the information on vitamins is great sorry Ive only just seen this! Yes I have hashimotos I will try to get the T3 tested from now on.

I'm not strict enough with the gluten free...it's no excuse but I have such a busy life I keep snacking on gluten when I'm hungry and want something quick. I have no one to blame but myself unfortunately!!
