Had my medichecks results a few weeks ago and it showed my Active B12 was 52.6 ( range 37-188) . I’ve just been to my GP to asked her to test me for B12 deficiency & pernicious anemia , she said because I’m in the range and as I have minimal symptoms occasional pins and needles, she didn think it necessary, so can anyone advise what B12 vitamins I need ? As this seems to be more only option.Thank you

This is the suggestion from Viapath at St Thomas' hospital, I would show this to your GP and ask why she wont follow that suggestion

Thanks, it was not my normal GP my regular one is away until April when I’m due to have my thyroid bloods done again should I just wait until April and try with my normal GP? I am at the moment feeling quite well, but really want to try the T3, what do you suggest please ?

The same as I replied in your previous post
You may need it but first priority is optimising all your nutrient levels, then see how that affects your FT4/FT3. If FT4 is still high and FT3 low then that's when to consider adding T3, not at the moment though. Nutrient levels need to be optimal for any thyroid hormone to work properly.
And they need to be optimal before considering T3.
Can I assume Endocrinologists do the relevant nutrients tests before they prescribe T3, as mine is a conversion problem T4 -78% &T3 -33% through the range I may look at going down that route again, can having B12 optimum make a huge difference in conversion with numbers like mine ? Thank you
I don't think you can assume anything with endocrinologists, some are OK, many are not worth wasting time on. Mine made me extremely ill and was a bully, so I don't have anything good to say really. Mine certainly didn't test nutrient levels and was only concerned with TSH, didn't bother at all with where FT4 and FT3 were in range.
Did you check the signs of B12 deficiency that I linked to? Some symptoms overlap with symptoms of hypothyroidism and also it also brings it's own problems. If you optimise all your nutrient levels, including B12, then you will know that any lingering symptoms won't be related to low nutrients and can concentrate on thyroid and adrenals, and maybe even sex hormones, it's all related.
I did check the list and didn’t really have any symptoms other than pins and needles, but I get that in my left arm due to a neck problem , so don’t know where to go from here🤷🏽♀️ I just checked out some posts on B12 deficiency and a lot of people take sublingual b12 do you think that would be an option ? and have medichecks test in day 6 weeks ?
I really can't say. I'm not a B12 expert, so all I can say is that further testing is recommended for your level of Active B12 as mentioned in the link I gave. If you take sublingual B12 then that means that it would skew testing later if you decided you wanted to do it. It may help, I can't say I'm afraid, so really it's your decision. You can try and do further research or you can go ahead and supplement. If you do supplement with B12 then it should be methylcobalamin lozenges and a B Complex is also needed to balance all the B vitamins.
