Importing Meds from Thailand

Guys, hopefully a quickie question here.

When importing meds, to UK; whether NDT or Liothyronine, what is the usual Customs, Excise and any other charges position? Do any charges, taxes or levies apply?

I'm currently in Thailand, and although its somewhat early to predict what I might or might not require, I'm curious. I have a further 5 weeks here.

Many thanks, as ever.

I import from Thailand and the package comes straight to my letterbox, no charges, no customs issues.

Many thanks. On that basis, it may not be worth second guessing any future need, although part of me feels NDT is probably a kinder treatment overall for a struggling thyroid.

As usual, much to ponder.

Finally, may I ask what he usual delivery period is like?

I don't import NDT but if it is stopped then the charge is 20% VAT plus £8 Royal Mail collection fee.

I have imported T3 but have not been subjected to these charges. It can depend on how the customs label is written/value declared.

And will all change post Brexit.

And will all change post Brexit.

Of course, T3 from Europe hasn't been subject to these charges so that will change.

Brexit wont affect anything coming from the rest of the world, the current rules for that will still apply.

It was the T3 I ordered from Mexico I was referring to that managed to get through without the charges, which I was pleasantly surprised about.

Many thanks for responding.

I'll ponder it a bit longer, with particular reference to the NDT element.

Usually around 2 weeks x

It depends what sender puts on the package. Worst case scenario, you pay VAT on price and shipping charge plus a handling fee of 8-12 GBP. Best case, you pay nothing.
