Thyroglobulin anti body large increase ?

Hello everyone,

January 4th Allergist tested thyroid antibodies along with allergy tests. Levels were: tpo 111 range 0-34 IU/ ml & thyroglobulin 6.6 IU/ ml range .0-0.9.

A rheumy just tested everything again on Jan 10- tpo is 111 and AT or thyroglobulin is 162 range greater than 60positive. Still IU/ ml. Can this be a mistake? Has it risen in a few days? Or am I missing something is it just a lab measurement difference?

I’m feeling like utter crap here with the worst cold ever and I can barely think.

I am having constant rashes on chest legs etc, all other tests were normal , but I noticed CH 50 is 40 considered normal but > 41 is pos. And ana IgG is 17 20-59 is positive. A swollen painful elbow and terrible itching fatigue etc lead me to check these again.

The first test was 6.5x times than the high range. The second test doesn't list an upper range, so it's impossible to know if it's the same, lower or higher. I'd assume the level is the same. Yea, antibodies fluctuate up & down, but I wouldn't think six days would make a difference.

Thanks G2g2,

It says <40 is neg, 40-60 is equivocal >60 is positive. Still not sure though if it is the same as the 6😹 oh well.

There's no way to know. Plus, impossible to know which of the two labs is more accurate, if one is. Good your TPO is exactly is the same on both. Why did your doctor order CH 50 when he/she already knows you have autoimmune diseases?

Yeah it is prolly close. My allergist ordered it, it can also show allergic reactions, lyme disease I think and other things.

It's used to monitor autoimmune diseases. Great CH 50 isn't high.

Wow, it is very complicated. I had read that it can show if you have lyme disease I think.

Increased CH50 values may be seen in cancer or ulcerative colitis. Decreased CH50 values may be seen in cirrhosis or hepatitis[2] or Systemic lupus erythematosus.
