I am looking for some help with getting a private thyroid panel done. All I have right now is my TSH results and I need more info as I'm still not feeling well.
I was thinking of getting Blue Horizon thyroid (plus 11) test done bluehorizonmedicals.co.uk/t... , has anyone had this done and is it enough to tell if I have a conversion problem?
Many thanks for your help.

Yes I've done it. I do it once a year as it's the cheapest way to check important vitamins and minerals as well. Yes, it will show what your conversion is like - that will show with your FT4 and FT3 results, providing your TSH is low enough.
Fingerprick option is 1 x microtainer (0.8ml of blood required), or venous blood draw option at extra cost if you prefer.
I have done a Blue Horizon thyroid 11 test which gives you all the results needed. Last year I took a Medicheck Ultra which was cheaper. I also order the nurse to come and take my blood at home cost, £39 extra.
Hi Bunnyjean, that;s good to know. Thanks for that. This is the first time that I'm getting private tests done. I just have no other way of knowing anything other than my TSH otherwise
Yes exactly, when I lived in France I only had the TSH done so had to wait until I visited the UK for Private Tests. It should help you, post the results with the ranges on here for answers.
I forgot to say take the test first thing fasting and leave off Levo for 24 hours prior to the test. If taking NDT or T3 leave off 8/12 hours prior to the test.
I know... He wouldn't even test free t4. And when my doctor put me up to 125mcg I had to argue with him to do a blood test as he tried to send me off for a year to save money on blood tests!
I used Medicheck in October,as they had an offer on. Results were sent the day after they received the blood, so very quick. If you have the one where they test 11 things it can be difficult to obtain the required amount of blood in fingerprick. My GP practise charged £20 for the appointment with the nurse to draw the blood! Then I had to send the samples special delivery (£8).. .to make sure they didn't arrive on a Friday. All worth it though, to have a complete picture of what's going on in your body, and if you have any trouble deciphering the results the wonderful people on here will help.Good luck.
