Just because that was her experience, it doesn't mean it will be yours - she may have different conditions than you, may be taking her meds differently etc etc. For instance when I took ThyroidS and Naturethroid I noticed no difference whatsoever between the two. More recently, of course, some have had problems with Naturethroid, indicating that if anything, the reverse of what you describe, might be the case for some. It's generally advisable to make only one change at a time, eg change brand but not dose, and adjust dose subsequently in the normal way as required; and it is possible to go too fast and overshoot one's optimal dose and be increasing more and more, chasing symptom resolution, rather than levelling out at a lower dose. If, reading between the lines, you are thinking about the cost implications of requiring 5 grains rather than 3 of Naturethroid, I can't help as I don't know the current price of ThyroidS, but if I were a betting person, I'd guess that on the balance of probabilities, you will be unlikely to need 5 grains yourself.
I.am not worried about the price: i know 5 grains of thai ndt is cheaper than 3 grains of nature throid(which i dont like it anymore, the new one). The nature throid doesnt work for me now; such a hassle: i dont feel good on it, it is extremelly expensive and i need prescription every time.
I.am worried a bit to get to 5 grains of thai ndt , i think is quite a big amount of it.
I ordered Thiroyd and TR Man; i will try Thiroyd and if it doesnt work i will take TR Man.
I dont know their colours that well(i saw online TR Man is pink and Thiroyd is white).
I was stressed i could take a big amount of ndt(taking at the moment 3 grains of nature throid).
I spoke with a girl from Hungary who bought from same supplier as me, she told me she takes 5 grains of Thiroyd instead of 5 grains of Nature throid, so is a fair switch.
Thanks for your reply. I was concerned with the spellings that you could have ended up with the wrong one so it was for clarification really.
I take Thyroid S and now in my 4th year. I did try Thiroyd as less fillers in it but I had to stop within three days, the headaches were frighteningly severe but on doing my earlier research I found most could only take one brand but not the other though the split was pretty even from the posts I read. May be I could have tried varying the dose of Thiroyd to see if that was an issue but as I was already happy with Thyroid S I didn't bother. I only take 1.75 grains of Thyroid S though got up to 3 grains before first testing. I had an Endo appointment already booked so I did the switch to correspond with that. I felt good on my 3 grains but not quite as good as I'd experienced before. When I was first diagnosed I was given NDT by the NHS but a strike left me without so went over to Levo. So new Endo dropped me down to 1.75 which was correct as it worked out! Present one wants me to stop but that's another story and that was over two years ago! Hope things go well with you!
The lady may have done what I did. I missed my sweet spot as I was following the suggestion of increasing in half grains to two then increasing by quarters. So my sweet spot turned out to be 1.75 so had already passed it but felt good and still felt good when I reached 3 grains by quarters! But the level of good stayed the same if that makes sense! Now if I'm unsure I drop my dose down first to help me make sure I'm going the right way!
No I take 2.5 grains of Thyroid s and have been for a couple of years now. The new Nature-throid is less potent than it used to be. You really should post your full blood test results with the ranges for people to answer. Also include exactly what you are taking now.
I have no thyroid and 2.5 grains per day is fine.
If I am over medicated I lose weight and have heart palps.
