I went today and saw a retired NHS endocrinologist who is now practising privately. Despite him saying that my sleep problems were probably not due to being hypothyroid and at just over 10 stone, I wasn’t fat (I used to be 8 stone at my heaviest l), he was willing to allow me to try Liothyronine for 6 weeks- 2 doses per day of 5mcg and wrote me a script. He is contacting my GP with what was agreed - I have to reduce my Levothyroxene from 100mcg to 75mcg. I’m hoping someone I know in Germany can get me the tablets. Just awaiting her response. Fingers crossed.

Any advice on obtaining T3 would be appreciated. Many many thanks for support to date and for giving me the strength and knowledge to keep on moving forward.

Thanks Seaside Susie - time will tell .. I’ve just said to helvella if need be I’ll try get it changed if I have to ... not giving up just yet ! You lot have given me some spark back - 😀
You don't have to rely on someone you know! So long as the prescription is written for "Liothyronine 20 microgram" tablets - and specifies 100 tablets, you can order them yourself. Link below gives some options:
Most 5 microgram tablets are USA products. (There is a Netherlands product but that is subject to lots of restrictions.)
Theoretically you could take your prescription to a UK pharmacy and they could order 5 microgram tablets from the USA. Sit down before you ask the price!
Thank you. My friend in Germany is a retired pharmacist and I think he hoped she would be more able to find ... I live in hope ... if not I’ll have to get the prescription redone 🤔
I am just waiting for a private scrip from my GP and have asked for 100 x 20microgram tablets. I will be splitting the tablets so that I can take 10 mcg per day! Currently on Uni Pharma which I obtained on internet about 2 years ago! 25mcg tablets which I have been splitting into 4 (6.25mcg) and had come to conclusion I needed to slightly increase my dose, so hopefully swapping to German tablets will help! Best of luck
