At last I have been given a prescription for t3😄
The consultant has given me the name of a private pharmacy however it is still quite expensive can I use another pharmacy and if so how do I find one?
Thank you

You can take it to any Pharmacy but you will still have to pay privately for the item. I get private prescriptions and get them filled at Boots but I still have to pay the private costs.
ThyroidUK has a list of pharmacies who will dispense T3 with a prescription here:

Ring round for prices. I think Roseway is the one who does Thybon Henning which works out at £1 per tablet and is possibly the cheapest.
Hi Seaside SusanThank you for posting the link. It states ‘for primary hypothyroidism’. Are you aware what the recommendations are for secondary hypothyroidism?
Thank you

I can't see where it says "for primary hypothyroidism" but I've only skimmed through the page. However, if you have a prescription for T3 that's what's important, it doesn't matter what's caused your hypothyroidism.
Hi SeasideSusieI was wondering if we know whether the NHS is more likely to pay for your T3 if you have secondary hypothyroidism, or if there are any papers/guidance. This paper says NICE think it’s not necessary for ‘primary hypothyroidism’.
My prescription will be a private one, as the NHS didn’t recognise my secondary hypothyroidism and I had to pay a private Endo to diagnose and confirm. GP now recognises it.
I wanted to be armed with info before I ask the GP to pay for my T3. Otherwise they will refer me to these guidelines, even though they say ‘primary’, which I not what I have.
Makes sense? 😊

I'm afraid I don't know but your GP can't initiate the prescribing of T3 on the NHS, as far as I know an NHS endo would have to do that. The endo would give you a trial of T3 and at the end of the trial would make the decision as to whether or not you have benefitted from T3. If the endo decides you have benefitted then prescribing would be transferred to your GP.
I get mine from overseas, without prescription. Tiromel 100 costs around £11. Message me and I’ll tell you how,
Hi, sorry to jump in on your message; I’ve tried to find you on messenger without success under Kandahar. Can you help me to find you please?Kindest
