Vitamin D Spray Recommendation.

Hi

My vitamin D has dropped below range as I stopped supplementing it over the summer.

Level 46.9 nmol/L 50.00 - 200.00

I have previously used Betteryou spray but realised it contains acacia gum which someone on the forum said should not be use if you get hay fever, which I do get, so could anyone recommend another good Vit D spray without this ingredient in.

Many thanks.

Hi Lucylocks,

I find this one helpful for me:

nutriadvanced.co.uk/vitamin...

ALthough I do know SeasideSusie knows of a good one with just olive oil and Vitamin D3 🙂

Many thanks, I will take a look.

I'm not that well up on sprays to be honest, there are a couple of D3 softgels that contain just D3 and extra virgin olive oil.

However, I've just had a quick Google and most sprays contain an awful lot of "extra" ingredients that read like a science lesson!

If "drops" rather than a spray are acceptable they seem to have the least added extras, this is the one I would go for

amazon.co.uk/Natures-Answer...

and there's NutriAdvanced do D3 drops nutriadvanced.co.uk/d3-drop...

Many thanks,

I have also noticed all the extra unnecessary ingredients in a lot of the sprays, which I want to avoid.

The two both look good, thank you.

I suppose the drops will be absorbed in the same way as the sprays.

Ah, I didn't look how to dose with them, but reading them it looks like you can put the drops in water or juice. I assumed it would be a normal dropper and you could take them sublingually. Certainly the Nutri one is a normal dropper, maybe you could contact them and ask if you can take sublingually.

Hormone-hell Do you take your Nutri drops sublingually?

Hi lucylocks + SeasideSusie

Yes put 1 drop under my tongue once a day :)

My levels went from 81 from 61 in two weeks on these just to give you a guide on dosage.

Hi

do you mean your level went from 61 to 81 in two weeks, just using one drop a day.

If so that is quite impressive as when I used the spray it took me a lot longer for my level to increase.

I will order the drops this evening.

Thank you again.

I see Hormone-hell puts them directly under the tongue once a day and their level has increased quite impressively, so I will try that.

Hi, It did raise my levels quite quickly, but I am not sure how individual this is, so it may or may not raise your levels as quickly as mine :)

Yes as you say we are all different, but it is good to know that the drops were absorbed well.

Just reading the recommendations for Vitamin D. Can any one tell me if its best for vitamin D3 to include K2 or any other vitamins/cofactors? The only I've been using includes K2 (the Bettersray), and wondered if that was good or bad? TIA

Hi

I will tag in @SeasideSusie as she knows more about this.

I have not up to now taken K2 with my Vit D.

The important cofactors for D3 are Vit K2-mk7 (90-100mcg for up to 10,000iu D3) and magnesium.

Whether you buy a combined D3/K2 supplement or take them separately doesn't matter.

D3 aids absorption of calcium from food and K2-MK7 directs the calcium to bones and teeth where it is needed and away from arteries and soft tissues where it can be deposited and cause problems such as hardening of the arteries, kidney stones, etc.

Magnesium helps D3 to work. We need Magnesium so that the body utilises D3, it's required to convert Vit D into it's active form. So it's important we ensure we take magnesium when supplementing with D3.

Magnesium comes in different forms, check to see which would suit you best and as it's calming it's best taken in the evening, four hours away from thyroid meds

There are other cofactors mentioned in an article by the Vit D Council, some of which can be obtained from food:
