Vitamin D test. Can test be done anytime of day.

Hi

I have just received my private finger prick test for Vitamin D.

Can it be done at any time of the day or is it best to do first thing in the morning before eating.

*The test is through betteryou.com/vitamin-d-tes...

it is in association with City Assays Birmingham, which I have seen mentioned on the forum and cost £28 but if you purchase the test through Betteryou you get a complimentary Vit D spray sample relevant to your results for the same price.

*Admin please remove if this not allowed, but if it is and may help members I can put it in another post to make more people aware.

Thank you.

I do mine in the morning, same as I would a thyroid test, before breakfast and before eating and drinking. I don't know if it matters, I just keep conditions the same. If you are already supplementing with D3, don't take that day's dose until after the test.

Thanks SeasideSusie,

I will do it in the morning.

I have only been supplementing occasionally during the summer, but I have come out with awful dermatitis/eczema and occasional hives. I have read hives can be associated with low Vit D but do you happen to know if the eczema can also be from low Vit D or in fact hypothyroidism. I have not had it before.

No idea about exzema being related, sorry.

Try looking up any link between vit d and eczema - there seems to be one.
