Hi everyone new to this forum. I was on eltroxin for 6 months and changed to nature thyroid last Monday and feeling awful ever since, headaches, nauseous, dizzy and heavy headed is this normal? GP said nature thyroid wouldn’t cause it but only started the day I took it. Anyone else ever have these symptoms please

I didn't get on with Nature Throid a year ago. I was incredibly anxious and weak. However, there is a lot of information on this site about the brand. It may be leaving you under medicated as some think it is less potent than it used to be.

Do a search on the brand and read the posts that come up.

What dose of levothyroxine were you taking? What dose of Nature Throid did you replace it with?

If you were taking 50mcg of Eltroxin for six months, I think that's at least 4 months too long as it should be increased every six weeks by 25mcg until your symptoms are relieved. With Eltroxin it is usual to have a blood test every six weeks with a 25mcg increase until TSH is 1 or lower.

You have switched over to 1/2 grain Nature-throid which is in the equivalent dose to Eltroxin so maybe if you add 1/2 tablet (1/4 grain) of the 1/2 grain Nature-throid every two weeks always taking note of your symptoms (if any) are being relieved and you feel better. If either your pulse/temp goes too high drop to previous dose.

Too low a dose can backfire - must as too much can also make us worse but 1/2 grain is a starting dose and should be increased every six weeks.

Also as Nature Throid contains more hormones than T4 (levothyroxine) so any tests you get wont correlate so it is more advantageous to consider your symptoms being relieved.
