thyro drops: Homeopathic sarcode support for stimulating, restoring and balancing the thyroid.

Not a good idea to stimulate a sick gland, you just hasten its demise. Homeopathy just doesn't work for thyroids. Many people have tried, but it doesn't work.

Are you familiar with Nature thyroid? Im taking 1/2 grain of that

ShootingStars profile image
ShootingStars in reply to rjerome812

That's the brand that I briefly tried. I have Hashimoto's and had an autoimmune reaction to it. Some people do, some don't. 1/2 grain is only 19 mcg T4 and 4.5 mcg T3, not even near the starting dose for T4, which is 50 mcg. I need both T4 and T3. I started on 50 mcg T4 and 10 mcg T3. Why is he starting you on such a low dose and how long is he expecting you to be on that pre-starting dose?

Its not the lowest and I go back in 2 weeks. He also gave me A-drenal . I actually feel good today. So the little bit im getting is helping apparently. I think he was worried about side effects . He did say he would start me low.

There are so many tried and true solutions re thyroid meds and treatments mentioned on this site that can help us now instead of wasting precious 'feel good 'time on less proven remedies. I have felt so bad for so long, not because the corrects meds, tests, and treatments weren't available but because many docs wasted my time by not prescribing what would make me better. Now that I have an endo who is really helping me I don't want to waste time on anything new when I can feel well with what is avilable now.. Just my opinion as I am already beginning to feel better and wish I could hurry the process. I know I can't so I'm happy with my new current treatment path.

I am taking ) 2 and 1/2 grains Nature throid (is that the same as Nature thyroid?. It seems to work well for me. I was sent to see an Endo in January who was also happy with my meds, but says he can prescribe T3 and T4 separately to get a more accurate dosage, Nature throid has you will know is combined T3 and T4. I decided to wait till my next appointment with my endo in June to switch, a bit silly of me because I have to pay for nature throid but I was honestly too scared to come off Nature throid as it agrees with me.

I hope this info helps a little. : )

Yes, sorry I meant Nature throid. I like it so far. My head seems clear today. I still feel i can improve more but it is helping. I just started taking it today. No heart palpitations or bad effects so far.

Yes, I'm familiar with NatureThyroid, rjerome812 , I took it for a while but it didn't suit me. No form of NDT (pig thyroid) suited me. But lots of people take it with great success. We're all different. :)

How did u realise they didn’t suit you what are the signs?

I got worse instead of better. That sort of gave it away. :)

Ari3 in reply to greygoose

I understand u got worse but I wanted to know in what ways worse for example?pls could u guide me?

greygoose profile image
greygoose in reply to Ari3

In every possible way. I ended up virtually bed-bound, and put on an incredible amount of weight.

My adrenals were sorted before I started NDT. And I was working on my nutrients. There was no obvious reason why it didn't suit me, it just didn't.

Never heard of it. Homeopathic. Hmm. Contains some concerning ingredients. Thyroid, Adrenal, Pituitary, Thymus and Spleen, from what? Cows? Pigs? Human cadavers? Would probably be a good idea to make sure you really understand and are in agreement with what is in it, the source of the ingredients, the country the ingredients came from, the pros and cons of taking it, etc. before you go putting in your body.

What other "remedies" did he give you?

Thyro Drops ingredients:

Spongia tosta 3X, Calcarea iodata 4X, Ferrum iodatum 4X, Lapis albus 4X, Thyroid 6X, Adrenal 6X, Pituitary 6X, Thymus 6X, Spleen 6X, Fucus vesiculosus 6X, Kali iodatum 6X, Calcarea carbonica 8X, Hepar sulphuris calcareum 8X, Iodium 9X, 20% alcohol, purified water

I googled Calcarea iodata, "Iodide of Lime". It's been used to treat "flabby children subject to colds". LOL! What? Supposedly it's cured some breast tumors, and nodular tumors. One page gave me this information:

Natural History.

Iodide of Lime

General.

It is in the treatment of scrofulous affections, especially enlarged glands, tonsils, etc., that this remedy has gained marked beneficial results. Thyroid enlargements about time of puberty. Flabby children subject to colds. Secretions inclined to be profuse and yellow. Adenoids. Uterine fibroids. CROUP.

Head.

Headache while riding against cold wind. Light-headed. Catarrh; worse at root of nose; sneezing; very little sensation. Polypi of nose and ear.

Throat.

Enlarged tonsils are filled with little crypts.

Respiratory.

Chronic cough; Pain in chest, difficulty breathing after syphilis and mercurialization (Grauvogl). Hectic fever; green, purulent expectoration. Croup. PNEUMONIA.

Skin.

INDOLEM ULCERS, ACCOMPANYING VARICOSE VEINS. Easy perspiration. Copper-colored and papulous eruption, tinea, favus, crusta lactea, swelling of the glands, skin cracked, falling out of hair.

Relationship.

Compare: Agraphis - Bluebell (adenoids with enlarged tonsils). Here Sulph. iod. follows both Agraphis and Calc. iod. Acon. lycoctonum (swelling of glands, Hodgkin's disease).

Compare also: Calc. fluor; Sil.; Merc. iod.

Dose.

Second and third trituration.

Let's do it! FCSC Society, all the way! ;-) Our moto could be "Headaches while riding against cold wind". :-P (see above under "Head").

Cool! Or is it....anyone who CAN'T make sense of this needs medication? Maybe we all need meds so that all this stuff makes sense? :-)

How do you get those smilies? Are they off your phone, or somehow from your computer keyboard?

in reply to ShootingStars

They are from my online keyboard. Once I found out how to access it (Grey Goose talked me thru it on this site) I found all kinds of different emojis and played around finding the ones I like. Once I turned on my keyboard it now pops up whenever I'm typing and I can use my emojis as I type. I'm like a kid with a new toy. 🐱 is my favorite. I had to go to settings to accessmy online keyboard. I'm not very computer savvy! I have a chromebook 15. And a wonderful book called "Chromebook for Dummies." 😂😆😠😕😈💰🏰⚓🗼♋⏳:-*❤💁😏

Well, you may laugh, but that exactly sums me up when I was a child. And what I actually had was Hashi's. And I think they must know that, and that's why they use the iodide. And that's the problem with homeopaths - and I saw one for a long time - they think they can 'kick-start' (the words used by my homeopath) the thyroid by using anything and everything other than thyroid hormone. They can't.

in reply to greygoose

We can elect you President of our FCSC Society. 🐹

greygoose profile image
greygoose in reply to ShootingStars

The concentrations will be so small that it really doesn't matter where it comes from, but almost certainly from pig or cow. Human cadavers were used for Human Growth Hormone, that's all.

ShootingStars profile image
ShootingStars

The first paragraph is about homeopathic Thyro Drops (“I’ve never heard of it”), followed by key ingredients (body parts tissue). The ingredients don’t specify the source of the tissue, which is odd. I was joking about human cadaver. Since the source isn’t listed, it’s anyones guess where it came from. Next paragraph is the full ingredient list.

NatureThroid is made from porcine, pig.

Please ,,,,,, do not be fooled by conventional doctors,,,,homeopathy does work,,,,think for yourself,,try for yourself,,,,,,doesn't work immediately like mainstream medicine but treats the whole person holistically ,,,,worked for me,,,,always treat my cats and dog with it ,,no side effects,,,,

greygoose profile image
greygoose in reply to Marilyn45

It's not a case of being fooled by conventional doctors, I've tried it for myself. It works very well for some things, but not for others. And the main organisation of homeopaths (can't remember the name) admits that homeopathy does not work for thyroid. :)

Look into something called Thyrobin. It helps with energy.

helvella profile image
helvellaAdministratorThyroid UK in reply to rockin60s

rockin60s,

Wondering why you say that? Do you take it?

I am very sceptical.

healthunlocked.com/thyroidu...

Thyrobin EFFECTS AND BENEFITS

Thyrobin contains Iodine, stinging nettle leaf, shepherd’s purse herb, black walnut hull, spirulina, kelp thallus, Irish moss, dulse thallus, bladderwrack thallus, fenugreek seed, coleus forskohlii root, sage leaf, astragalus root, ashwagandha root, and horsetail. Everything other than the Iodine is in a proprietary blend, so the exact values of each ingredient are not available. Rejuvica Health prides itself on the natural ingredients in Thyrobin and uses “advanced cold-extraction processes to draw a potent, bioavailable concentration of each.” Although no vitamins or minerals are listed in the supplement facts label, Rejuvica Health claims the Spirulina ingredient provides Vitamin B1, Vitamin B2, Vitamin B3, Copper, Iron, Iodine, and Magnesium nutrients the Thyroid requires. It seems unrealistic however, to us, that this one ingredient in a low amount provides all the necessary daily recommended amounts.

I usually am skeptical. However, it did not seem like armor thyroid med was helping my energy. So I did try it and it does seem to help pretty quickly. As for as the iodine goes, I actually had my level tested and it was a little low .My dr. didn't test it. I sent my own specimen to a lab. In my opinion it may be that we are all deficient in it.

rjerome812 I am liking the sound of your doctor. I had a GP who was a homeopathic doctor too and he could prescribe on the NHS, what care and attention he gave his patients, sadly he retired :0( The royal family only see homeopathic doctors, they do not use the so called big pharma chemical snake oil medicine, only natural healing for them, unless they need an operation or something like that.

I Seen Dr. Greg Olson, He is also an M.D.!Dr. Fuller Royal (nevada)is also in the office . I loved my experience there. It was awesome. They dont take insurance , but they take their time and listen to the patient and look at your blood work. He was the first doctor to help me with thyroid and adrenals. He told me my numbers were too high 4.20 (tsh) and High antibodies. He also didnt try and give me an antidepressant.

rjerome812: Just started taking Nature throid a few days ago. I like it so far. I think the dose is 37.5 mg. I was on levothyroxene for a couple of years, then switched to Armour...when I went to renew the Armour, the pharmacist said none was available so he gave me Nature throid. Working good, I think.

If you mean Naturethroid then yes I take that in preference to levo. It works better for me and my tendon problems in my feet are much better with it - on levo I need crutches, with Naturethroid I walk without. I still find it painful to drive though so not a total fix.

I'm intolerant to Levothyroxin and can't take it at all now. I've tried various thyroid boosts homeopathic remedies, nothing worked at all. Now I'm on Metavive which is classed as a suppliment to avoid the need for a prescription. It is made from bovine or porcine thyroid glands. So far it is helping me. I'm still at the building up stage so I'm increasing the amount I'm taking, but my energy is improving. It is very early days as yet so can't say at the moment that it will be successful but I am feeling better. I also take Selenium, to help with converting T3 into T4 and Co enzyme Q 10 300mg plus iodine drops.
