Hi there, i have had extreme fatigue and muscle pain for a week after the symptoms of a cold finish. Is this normal with Hashimotos? I am currently taking 100mg of Levo and have booked in for repeat blood tests just in case!

There is no history about your problem with your thyroid gland in your Profile.

I note you have been diagnosed with hashimoto's.

Re blood tests - are you aware that all blood tests for thyroid hormones have to be at the very earliest, fasting (you can drink water) and allow a gap of 24 hours between your last dose of levo and the test and take afterwards.

This give us results that are in our favour, so if you haven't the earliest appointment change your time.

You do probably need an increase in dose and getting the eariest appointment keeps your TSH at its highest as doctors are apt to only take notice of TSH alone. Ask for TSH, T4, T3, Free T4, Free T3 and thyroid antibodies. He or lab may not do all and you may have to get the Frees privately if possible.

Doctor should also check B12, Vit D, iron, ferritin and folate.
