Can you give us some more information please. We don't know what you need to know from these results
Sorry, just wondering if it’s better than my last results (doc thought I was over medicated before. Now says I’m all good. I started taking my Levo at night as am taking Omeprazole in the morning. Not sure what to think really. I have lost quite a bit of weight but have been anxious so put it down to that.
Did you have a reduction in dose then?
What were your previous results?
How do you feel compared to before?
Your FT4 is only 56% through range, that can be too low for some people (but can be fine for others). The aim of a treated hypo patient generally is for TSH to be 1 or lower with FT4 and FT3 in the upper part of their ranges if that is where you feel well.
I’ve reduced by 50 mcg since Feb. Results in July were
Serum T3 3.8. (3.1-6.8)
Free T4 22.3 (12.0-22.0)
TSH 0.02 (0.30-5.00)
I feel about the same. Maybe a little tired some days compared to before. Not excessively tired though. Anxious still! Think I may put weight back on as well . Kind regards.😊
Your July results show that your T4 to T3 conversion is poor with an over range FT4 and very low in range FT3. What you needed then was a reduction in Levo and the addition of T3. I've just looked back at some of your previous posts and I mentioned this to you when you posted those results 4 months ago, as did Greygoose months ago.
Thank you for your reply SeasideSusie,I’ve been a bit nervous of sourcing t3 for myself as Endo wouldn’t prescribe. With latest results would you still suggest the same? Do you think Omeprazole has brought my T4 down? Also does serum T 4 and serum T3 mean the same as T4 and T3 ? I get so confused. Sometimes you see serum written in a post and other times not. Warm wishes
Serum is a part of blood, so generally serum in front of the thing tested means it was tested from a blood draw rather than say, in urine or saliva. What is important is whether you are talking about total T3/4 or free T3/4 - free means not bound to its carrier protein and therefore available to the cells, and it's the test which is most important for assessing if we are appropriately medicated.
Thank you for your reply. Would that test only be available privately?
No, it's what you mentioned in your post above when you wrote Free T4 22.3, which I'm assuming was an NHS test (it is often written as FT4). From the reference range, the result you describe as Serum T3 is also actually Serum Free T3. Generally in the UK, total T3/4 levels are not considered, as free T3/4 results are more accurate in identifying what levels of those hormones are available for the body to use.

Maisie has explained about serum so nothing to add there.
With your latest results
T4 17.6. (12 -22 )
TSH 0.93 (0.27-4.2)
No T3 done.
it's impossible to say if your conversion is still poor. You need FT4 and FT3 done at the same time to confirm that.
I don't know if Omeprazole has affected your FT4. Do you take it as far away from your Levo as possible?
So sorry for late reply. I do yes- I take Omeprazole at breakfast and thyroxine in middle of night when I wake for a trip to the bathroom . I’m off Omeprazole for 7 days as having impedance test for acid etc. Thank you for your reply. I will do a private blood after Xmas to see all levels. I’m not sure how often a thyroid plus blood test should be done. My last medichecks was in April. I can’t afford to do it too often. Warm wishes
