copper and ceruloplasmin

hi, ive just had my copper serum test back so i can use it along with ceruloplasmin to work some things out....

So using a website that helps you work out percentages of bound and unbound copper (ceruloplasmin is bound, and excess body copper is unbound)

My serum copper level is 13.6 umol/l (range 11.0 - 22.0)

and ceruloplasmin is 0.22 g/l range (0.20 - 0.60)

so both are in range BUT when you work out the percentage of unbound copper 'not being used' it comes up as 23% (range 5-20%) and in ug/dl (20.4 ug/dl) range (5-15)

So i have more unbound than i should, and i dont know what to do.

I dont want to lower my copper stores, just the excess, or raise my ceruloplasmin to make it use the excess copper?

i wondered if anyone else has been in this situation or know someone who has?

my zinc levels are normal now (they were very deficient) so i was expecting my copper to be really high (not just the unbounded) but they are just in range low end.

ive heard that copper problems can be related to pyroluria too (absorbtion problem of zinc and b6) ive never had my b6 tested but i do have some symptoms of low b6 like no dreams etc but i do get dreams when i take b6.

so i dont know if i need to use something to get rid of some copper or not, and how to raise ceruloplasmin if i can.

Check gotmag.org. Morley Robbins explains all this connection. Also Facebook magnesium group goes into that. I’m donating blood to help lower ferritin which helps with other dysregulation. Good Luck
