I don't know what to think about this article, it's very strange. All the way through it I kept thinking 'oh! I have copper toxicity!' 'oh no, I have a copper deficiency!' 'Oh, well, perhaps it's a toxicity after all...' Love to know what you all think about it.

I read about this a while ago and came to the conclusion that copper toxicity is actually zinc deficiency and copper deficiency is zinc overload - the two minerals need to be in balance.

Can't remember it was where I read it, mind... :) I'll see if I can find it again.

It might have been this one: progressivehealth.com/thyro...

I think you're right. In which case, I have copper toxicity!

I found some statements rather odd. Especially the true reason behind choosing not to eat meat. I didn't know it was high copper driving my dislike of animal slaughter. I mean, I am into metaphysics but that just pushed it over the edge for me. Anyway, if he's right...then I am a high copper personality! But cooked cruciferous veg make me very windy and I thought that was excess Yang!

Interesting to note the high copper plant based diet not being moderated by zinc through lack of animal foods. I understood it better from here: westonaprice.org/modern-dis...

Thanks, anyway. All new to me.

So, if I understand this article, whatever your symptoms it is due to a lack/excess of copper.

I actually found myself laughing at the article as I must also be overloaded/deficient. I find it extremely difficult to take most of it seriously.

I do wonder what he would make of a hair sample from myself and many others I know who regularly colour our hair. Since I colour my grey back to the original red/ginger I wouldn't be at all surprised to find copper in the ingredients. Bet that would make the results interesting. :-)

I just read it with my mouth hanging open in Wonder, and the words 'what the hell...' forming at the back of my throat. I especially liked the bit where he explains homosexuality by high - or was it low? - zinc. I'd love to put that to the test!

So, does colouring your hair change the chemistry of that hair? I gave that up years ago, fighting a losing battle!

So me turning vegetarian temporarily to irritate my parents was due to copper toxicity, deficiency or something :-D Surprised he didn't include a horoscope guide to likely copper toxic/deficient types.

I bet he never thought of that! lol I turned veggie when I moved in with a veggie and didn't want to cram his food with lamb chops and pork pies. I thought that would be discourtious. Yes, I know, we sometimes do things for stupid reasons! But, truth to tell, I was slowly going off it, and was reluctant to go back to eating it when I moved out. Really buggered up my health though! Now I eat very little meat, but for humanitarian reasons. But I think my copper level must vary hour by hour, according to his list of symptoms! lol

GG, I've never been a big meat eater, a slice or small portion with 10 veg is my preferred way and meat once a day has always been enough for me. I'm a beast for potatoes though.

Yes, we got that impression! lol To be honest, I couldn't tell you what I eat. If asked, I go blank. Shopping is a nightmare! What to eat??? But I just had a sausage sandwich (two sausages) with iceburg lettuce, with walnut oïl and violette-flavoured vinager dressing. And I'm struggling to finish it! (Just gave up!) That's the first meat I've had in... a week? (If you can call sausages 'meat'.) Don't remember. Got to force myself to eat it sometimes though, because when I went veggie, I got very, very ill. (Didn't know anything about vits and mins in those days!) But had fish twice this week.

Perhaps this article is an experiment to see how many people actually believe it all. Or, indeed, any of it.

I have read it again and I begin to wonder if this 'Dr' had a dream, or maybe had time on his hands one afternoon and got bored.

As for his homosexuality theory, I suppose he also thinks he has a cure for the 'condition'. :-)

lol I'm sure they'll be thrilled!

Ironically, it was anther Wilson, Samuel Alexander Kinnier Wilson (1878–1937), after whom Wilson's disease of excess copper accumulation was named:

Perhaps he wrote it out of copper-envie. Or maybe they're related, and it's familial copper obsession.

I find that eye very attractive. Pity it means the person's not well.

So, Rod, what do you think about the article?

Well, I find it confusing - and really can't be bothered to spend too much time trying to get to grips with it. :-)

As with so many things, copper levels are important but I feel that trying to work through the elements more or less one at a time is an impossible task.

Thank you. I'm glad you found it confusing, too! :)
