Hi everyone,

Can anyone recommend a really good magnesium tablet please?

I've been using Better You spray but would prefer to pop a pill.

Thank you.

Hi, magnesium is fab for pain management. I usually take the own brand magnesium-calcium supplements from Boots. If the pain is unmanageable, then I opt for something that include magnesium citrate (not magnesium oxide, as most magnesium supplements contain). M citrate, I feel, is better absorbed and targets the pain better. While I don't have a UK or US brand for you, being based overseas, I find mine at local pharmacies with ease (own/no brand or local brand).

As there are different forms of magnesium, it depends on which one would suit you best.

Calm vitality magnesium powder is cheap and easy to use. Can cause diarrhoea if take too much, but good if you tend to suffer constipation

Starting with low dose and increase until you get desired effect. Best taken afternoon or evening four away from any thyroid hormones

I have read recently that only about a third of Magnesium is absorbed when taken orally. For this reason, I use Mag Glycinate capsules, Magnesium Flakes in bath and Magnesium Chloride oil to rub in painful areas. Have noticed much less pain over the last month since doing this and the best I've felt in years painwise.

If you don't mind liquid magnesium then I can thoroughly recommend ReMag by Caroline Dean, which is a concentrated liquid you dilute and drink so you can adjust the amount easily. It's very well absorbed with no side effects and I get it by post from here, I think they're the only people who sell it in the UK: botanicahealth.co.uk/shop/r...

My next favourite is MegaMag Muscleze by Nutri, a powder so again you can adjust the amount and then drink it: amazon.co.uk/MegaMag-Muscle...

I've found both those better than tablets, and with no digestive side effects.

It necessarily See here about being scared to take Mg citrate. Sounds like you’d be hard pushed to damage yourself with normal supplementation?
