Six months on Levothyroxine and feeling much better

Hello All

I have posted on this forum a few times over the last six months when I was feeling down and ill and the response I got from people was very helpful and reassuring as when you walk out of your doctors surgery, you are on your own feeling rubbish!

This is all to say that I would like to report a success story, which hopefully may help people who are at the start of their treatment and finding it slow going.

I was diagnosed 6 months ago with a TSH 0.3.55 (and low Vit D) with all the usual symptoms, and was put on 50mcg of Levo for 6 weeks. This was gradually increased every 6 weeks or so by 25mcg until finally 125 mcg which I have now been on for 8 weeks. It is only in the last week or two that I have felt well (can now go for a walk at lunchtime!!)

I would especially like to thank Seaside Susie, Greygoose and Marsaday for their helpful posts

Excellent news. Walking at lunch time now - running marathons tomorrow. Good to hear a success story. It gives those of us still trying to find our sweet point on the meds hope. 😄

Good to hear someone else is getting back to good health. I'm a postwoman and my diagnosis a couple of months ago has not stopped me working or doing my fitness class or going for a quick run. I find these things help me mentally
