Hi , just got my blood test results back from docs for my hypothyroidism
TSH - 0.21
FREE T4 - 16.4
FREE T3 - 3.4
CHOLESTEROL - 5.4
HDL- 1.9
VIT D - 78 nmol/like
VIT B12 - 285 ng/l
FOLATE - 11.6 ug/l
FERRITIN- 47 ug/l
Anti-thyroid peroxidase 2.2 IU/ml
I have been told all results are "normal" and to be honest , they look pretty good to me too , but i am only just starting to understand my thyroid and what it does since being on here , so , some feedback on these results would be so much appreciated from you guys , thank you for all the help you have given me so far in my quest to try and become more informed on my condition and understand it a lot more
Thankyou all once again

I'm afraid we need to see the ranges to be able to make sense of the results. Ranges vary from lab to lab, so we need the ranges used by the lab that did your analysis.
TSH is low for someone not on thyroid hormone replacement. So, I'm surprised your doctor hasn't pronounced you hyper! He would be wrong, of course, but that doesn't stop them.
Your FT4 is good, just enough over mid-range. But, your FT3 is far from normal. So, you don't convert very well, and that's what's causing your symptoms.
H.D.L - 1.9 (>1.2 mmol/l)
We don't care about that. It's high because your FT3 is too low.
SERUM FOLATE (ug/L ) 11.6 (2.1 - 14.0)
That's good.
VIT B12 285 ( ng/L ) 180 - 900
That's much too low. It should be at least over 550.
SERUM FERRITIN 47 ( ug/L ) 24 - 155
That's also much too low.
VIT D 25 OH - 76 <25 deficient , 25-50 insufficient, >50 adequate
That could be higher. Adequate is not good enough for someone with low thyroid hormones, we need optimal.
That's a difficult question. Safe, yes. There's no danger. But whether that is going to help you get will is an entirely other question. You can't convert the levo to T3, and it's low T3 that causes symptoms. And, keep on increasing the levo is not the answer because it would have to be very, very high to produce enough T3 to keep you well. And, when the FT4 gets very high, conversion gets worse, not better. I think you ought to sound your doctors out about obtaining T3.
It is ok to take vit D supplements, but four hours away from levo. And, if you take vit D, you should also take its cofactors: vit K2 - MK7, and magnesium.
For the B12 I would suggest 5000 mcg sublingual methylcobalamin daily. Plus a B complex to balance the Bs. You won't find decent quality B supplements on the High Street, you would need to buy on-line. Amazon is good for supplements.
Your Ferritin is so low, your doctor ought to be doing something about it. He should be doing an iron panel to see what's going on.
Hi greygoose, unfortunately am not able to see doctor till 7th November that's the earliest appointment I could get , but i will be raising these issues with him .
In the mean time, am taking on board what you are saying , especially about the vitamin deficiency as i feel that that is a probable cause of what is going on with my neck and throat .
The hoarsenses, lumps / nodules on left side of neck , discoloured and cracked tongue , sometimes swollen , not sure about the hard lump that sometimes comes up on left side of neck and goes up behind the ear though , also don't know if this is also why my hair is breaking off , my skin keeps breaking out in sores and the feeling of total exhaustion and of the breathlessness that keeps coming and going , sorry to trouble you with all this , but only get 10 mins with doctor, which is nowhere near enough time to explain all this and certainly don't want to keep being labeled a hypochondriac , which I feel has already happened .
Hi greygoose , have taken on board all that you have said , I am waiting for delivery of vit k 2 , but wanted to ask about B12, have been looking online as you suggested but have found several options , the 5000mcg doses come in 3 forms , drops , lozenge or tablet , if possible , would you be able to suggest the best form for me to be taking please
As you may see by my main forum post , I have still got so much going on , i am totally exhausted, and am not sleeping well , is there anything that you can suggest that may help with this please
