I found this excellent page detailing how to heal your thyroid naturally - most I already do as have been recommended on here and I’m feeling so much better.
I’d like to ask if anyone has tried Castor Oil Packs? I’ve heard excellent reviews that they do work and can help detox the liver and help heal the thyroid. I’m interested if anyone has had any success.
Hi Miss, that article seems to have good advice. Castor oil packs are an old remedy and though I never used it in that way I think it has merit. An old website, askdrstoll, often recommended them but usually over the liver with heat because it draws out toxins. But we know that the thyroid contains toxins, they've even found Epstein Barre virus in the tissue so I'm thinking perhaps it's a good idea but can't say I'm sure how a virus might react. Perhaps some further research should be considered. I think using it on the liver is a good idea.
Ha, I'm not that adventurous but if you are going to be a guinea pig, I'd like to know if you find anything out. You don't want to wake up the virus, that is for sure. You know Izabella Wentz has talked a great deal on Epstein Barre. She also lived through the Chernoble incident.
Since the liver is your detox machine, it might be safer to try it on your liver. I'm glad you are curious. I believe in old time medicine. John Bergman has a video on many of them.
There's also an arabian myth that suggested to consider nigella sativa with honey, never tried that as I'm still mild sub-clinical hypo, google it yourself, I wouldn't advise to try it
I used castor oil packs years ago for uterine fibroids. It helped! Forgot about that & will do the same for my thyroid & liver. I heated the castor oil in a pot until really warm & then soaked a cotton diaper in it. Put it on my abdomen & wrapped plastic around me to keep the heat it with a thick towel on top. I wouldn't use a heating pad--dangerous EMF.
